    23SE

I have had the 21SE for 5 years, and am on my third season with my 23SE. I fish off of New Jersey, routinely out to 30-40 miles. Most days I am able to do 20 knots pretty comfortably in my 23SE. Depending on the wind, you may get a little wet sometimes, but overall I am very happy with it...

23 SE ADDING A SWIM LADDER

I have the 23 SE and I have the swim platform on the back. I'm glad its there since it came with the boat, especially since I do fish alone alot, and getting back in the boat is a concern to me if I ever fell out. Keep in mind that it is not all that big a platform. Also keep in mind that you...

    Trip #2 - 2008

I've had to go over the side in the canyons 3 times in my life. All were during daylight to clear something in the props. Each time I was nervous and scrambled for the tuna door when I was done. To go over a night, while chunking, is pretty gutsy. Nice work.

Wow, can those striped bass swim! (For you Mass. guys)

I'm far from an expert on this topic, but I was wondering if that growth rate is typical. From 19 inches to 26 inches in 3 1/2 years seems pretty slow to me, but I was just curious what you thought. Thanks

Well, it's a parker question because it happened in a parker

I had the same experience last July when anchored in the Barnegat Bay one night. It kind of freaked me out. I turned off everything to the boat, even turned off the batteries. I lifted my motor out of the water so it was not the prop spinning. At the time, i thought maybe it was crabs...

    Soldering a GPS antenna

I did this once on my last boat with my VHF antenna. I also did not have a soldering gun. I put a 10D galvanized nail in a pair of vice grips and heated it to a glowing red with a blow torch. By the time I got it to the solder, it wasn't glowing anymore, but it worked good for me.

    Splash Date?

Got her in on March 18th. Been cold, windy and rainy ever since and only got out once, but hoping to get out this weekend to do a little flounder pounder.

    Use of bleach on gelcoat

9 years of bleach with no problems. I do about the same as Megabyte and use it straight on decks, and mix it into my wash water. I even put it in a spray bottle and use it to spray the top of my hard top, in crevices and corners of battery boxes, bilge, anchor locker, around the perimiter of...

    TROLLING FEATURE ON YAMAHA GAUGES

Decided to call Yamaha. It seems that the gauge portion of their manual basically covers all their outboards. This trolling feature is only available on outboards up to 90HP, and the new 350. So, I guess most of us don't have it. Sure would be nice though.

    TROLLING FEATURE ON YAMAHA GAUGES

I was reading thru my yamaha gauge manual again last night, and figuring out how to reset the maintenance clock, for after my last oil change, when I came across the trolling feature setup in my gauges. This feature allows you to adjust the RPMs electronically in 50 RPM increments. This comes...

    Yamaha extended warranty question.

I got a yes card acknowledging my extended warranty within a few months of purchasing the engine. If came with maintenance tracking logs, and instructions on how to document your maintenance of the engine.

    Electronics Recomendations?

I am very very happy with my C-80. The digital fishfinder is incredible, and the radar works great, and the chart overlay is great.

    Ringfree

I use it at every fill up, also in the maintenance mode mixture. I thought it was one ounce per 15 gallons though. I'll have to check the bottle tonight.

    ANY CENTER CONSOLE T-BAG USERS?

I was wondering if anyone of my fellow center console owners have a T-Top T-Bag mounted on their T-Top. I have been wanting to get one for a while to store my life jackets in. I would really like this from a safety standpoint of having the jackets right there in an emergency, and also would...

    Side Imaging Sonar WOW!!

We have one on the 63 Bertram I work on. Very cool. I have 2 really cool stories on using it. Once when we were way out in the deep, we were trolling alongside a long liner who was pulling his gear. We knew whether he had a fish on the line before he pulled it, as we were able to side scan...

    Nifty Calculator

I frequently (almost always) have the a-scope on in addition to the finder. Picture the finder is a historical record scrolling across your machine. You still see the image of a wreck or fish as it scrolls across the screen, even when you can be some distance from it. Now picture the a-scope...

    Nifty Calculator

On most units, if you switch to a-scope mode, it will tell you your width of beam at the sea floor.
