    Good Morning on the M'Mack

Two nice flyrod fish from this morning.. so far this season you never know what kind of day its going to be waking up at o'dark thirty, it can be completely hit or miss.. You never know, unless you go! First fish was very chunky and 42" Second fish was a lean, mean 44" - one of my best on the...

    ox66 engine trouble?

You did the right thing by not pushing it with the screws. Make sure you are using a #2 screwdriver and it should go much easier. -- Tom

    New/Old style ox66 vst filters

Thanks for posting that Ken.. I had ordered a replacement a couple of winters ago, expecting to get the 'new' style in, but like you, found out that they are the same. For the record, they are very easy to clean -- just get some spray carb cleaner and spray the filter from the inside out. The...

    ox66 vst filter problem

How much of the old gas was in the tank when you added the new Ethanol gas? And, by the way, you can clean the VST filter pretty easily, you don't need to buy a new one every time. It is good to have a spare, as you can clean it up and have it ready to swap out when the main one gets clogged...

    Decarb motor

I've 'cheated' and used both of the following short-cut methods (versus setting up a separate tank): 1) Pull your fuel / water separator and fill it about 75% with SeaFoam. The SeaFoam will mix with the gas getting pulled into the f/w separator and also with the gas in the VST tank if you...

Organized storage inside 23SE Center Cosnole?

Inside my console I have done the following: 1) Installed a 'coat rack' .. long strip of starboard with a few hooks to hang dock lines, PFDs, etc. that is mounted on the forward wall / front of the console. 2) Took some scrap starboard, roughly in the shape of a "T". I put a milk crate in...

yamaha 0x66 fuel pump - question

You can also try pumping the primer ball when the engine starts bogging down to see if that gets it going again. If it does, then its the LP pumps, as suggested above and a very easy (and inexpensive, if such a thing exists) fix. -- Tom

need help filling holes left by old antenna

Quick and dirty way, just get some MarineTex putty.. tape around the holes, mix it up, force it into the holes.. a little light sanding and you are done. I'm sure this will be considered sacrilidge by some of the CP faithful, but I'll let them chime in on the right way with gelcoat, etc.. -- Tom

Need a replacement pilothouse side grab rail

Sorry, both are in use :) One is a grab rail on the front of the console for passengers, the other is mounted on top of the gunnel as a grab when using the swim platform. -- Tom

    DSC wiring issue

I'd be more than happy to help, but you've got to at least tell us what those wires mean.. blue, green, etc.. there isn't a standard for the color coding and every vendor does it differently. I'm sure this info is in your owner's manual.. if you don't have it, I'd bet the manufacturer's web...

    Break-Away Anchor Rigging

There have been a lot of posts on the various forums after the tragedy in FL where several people drowned after their boat capsized while trying to retrieve a stuck anchor in heavy seas. Found this post on Florida Sportsman, curious if any of the guys here rig their anchors this way, or have...
