    Running at night

I just put a towel over the dash board and peek under it at regular intervals. Not very high tech but works for me.

For Sale: '97 25 DVSC side window and hatch Screens

What you have here are the side window screens, one port one starboard as well as the screen to fit the hatch over the v-berth. *Note* this is off a 1997 25 Deep Vee sport cabin. The size/style of the windows have probably changed since then. The side window screens measure 16 5/8" tall X 27...

    Leaky inspection ports

Having lots of issues with the two inspection ports on my deck. I am very concerned about water entry into the fuel tank area since I have already had to replace the tank due to corrosion. Several years ago i replaced the standard pry off lid type for the Tempress style screw in with gasket...

    Overheat hell. 2006 Volvo 5.7 i/o dp-s

Had a similar issue with my volvo diesel. Ran across the channel to Catalina (about a 30 mile run) at 3500 rpm with normal temps. When I arrived at the island and was idling waiting for a mooring assignment, temp gauge slowly rose til it maxxed out and alarm went off. Checked the raw water pump...

    Fuel tank question

I am one of the unlucky ones. Mine developed several pin holes at eight years old. I bought the boat from the original owner who had installed a bait tank on deck above the fuel tank compartment. It seems that at some point the supply hose began leaking and eventually flooded the fuel...

Me too...unfortunately, they didn't choose any of my Parker pictures

    I/O vs Outboard

I've had the outdrive rebuilt once, and have had to replace both hydraulic rams (one at a time) but most of the repairs and expense has been for various engine components/systems. No Volvo parts are cheap. One of the worst issues I have is how hard it is to remove and replace the batteries in...

    I/O vs Outboard

I've had both. Had a Yamaha outboard on a Whaler that was kept on a trailer with meticulous maintenance. A month after selling to my Brother in law, the lower unit gear housing cracked and found the cooling jacket rotted out. Next boat was a 24' center console with a 225 Yammie 2 stroke. Didn't...

    Attention Southern California Parker Boaters

The Rock2Rock paddleboard race from Catalina to the mainland is happening June 16th this year. Being an escort boat is a lot of fun and your paddleboarder pays your expenses. I am full but know another paddler who needs an escort. If you have an interest in doing this, please let me know and I...

    Fiberglass deck repair recommendations

Hello fellow Parker owners. I have had to replace my leaking diesel fuel tank on my 25' Parker four or five years ago. In the years since the repair, I have been having issues with the deck in the repaired area. Several of the screw heads holding the decking down have started to pop up beneath...

    sexy new slider cabin door

I agree re: Kevin is a cool guy. Spoke to him again at Del Mar.... price seems to be somewhat flexible but still a little too rich for me. I have a lot of projects I'd rather do first, but look forward to dealing with Kevin in the future.

    sexy new slider cabin door

Funny, when I talked to the guy at the show, he quoted me $3900 to change out to a sliding door..... could update a lot of electronics with that kind of cash. I liked the idea but the door felt very flimsy until it was fully closed. I did like the suspension seat and that cool snap in carpet...

    Fuel Leak

My Parker was 8 years old when my tank rotted through. The way I found out for sure was to rig up a rubber plug with a whole just big enough to allow me to inject compressed air (remember to stop up the vent tube) and have someone listen at all the inspection ports. Mine was easy to hear because...

    Not a Parker report...but

Hey Brian, Way to go...Nice Yeller and a ginormous roach! I'm gonna make a concerted effort this season for a bigger model Seabass. Hope to see you and John out on the squid grounds.

    SoCal Rendezvous

Great Time! Got quite a bit of respect for the talents of many of the attendees. The Horndog was an inspiration. Brian and Kim, thanks for showing me the ropes. Let's do it again real soon! Check out photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/damic/sets ... 205559359/

SoCal Parker BBQ in Long Beach Harbor

I'll be there. Plan to arrive on Friday. Spending Fri, Sat, and maybe Sunday. I'll be BBQing, fishing. and maybe hooping if someone is willing to give me some pointers. I've only got a couple of hoops and I'm real wet behind the ears when it comes to hoopin. Also plan to bring a camera and take...

SoCal Parker BBQ in Long Beach Harbor

My vote is to get moorings at the isthmus. Sounds to me like the raft up thing might be cumbersome for people to come and go as they please. Can't beat the scenics at Catalina vs LB harbor. Weekend of the 17th sounds fine to me.

SoCal Parker BBQ in Long Beach Harbor

I would love to join in. Tried to get something going like this a year or two ago but couldn't muster enough interest. Count me in.
