    Bait tank placement questions.

Understood. I would weight test it. I did the same weight test on a 28 Grady before hanging 1200 lbs of Honda 250’s. The beam is what handle the weight. I used coolers with water ,buckets with water a few people and anchor chain. You really don’t want wet feet or scuppers under water. It ruins...

1989 Parker 18 cc gas tank replacement

Take your time on a tank replacement. It’s a lot of work and needs to be precisely planned and executed. I’m doing one now. Search the threads as it has all the info you will need.

    Bait tank placement questions.

Look at all that space. Wow. Get rid of the I/o doghouse and flatten it out with a good flush hatch. I suggest you add buckets of water to simulate the weight for the stern bait tank. That way you can test scupper height accurately. I suspect it’s too much especially with that f300 way back...

    Replacing gas tank

Thanks, I measured about 15 times, then used a centerline and offset approach. The tank and stringers are not perfectly parallel either which made it tricky. After a few pilot holes I snapped lines and set the radial saw 1/16 above the interior deck skin. More photos soon. OP you can search my...

    Power issue 2520 with 2008 Yamaha 250

This cam sensor sure creates a lot of difficult intermittent problems. Not only in boats but in cars. It’s my first look from now on.

    Gas tank replacement

You are in luck, maybe. I have a 17 that I am replacing the tank on right now. American tanks in San Diego is where is was able to get mine fabricated. Please note that not all 17’s have the same tank so pull the old one and measure it exactly. Also if you are not in SoCal I would suggest...

    Replacing gas tank

It takes a lot of time and many accessory materials. Hoses, clamps, wire, wood, starboard, sealant, fasteners, neoprene, resin, glass fabric, saw blades, etc. then there is the derigging and rerigging. I’m on month three and almost done. Cost was an issue but more than that, I didn’t find...

Boat For Sale What is She Worth?

Nice boat. look at comps. Engine is fresh and no bottom paint. I’d start at 45k if in great gelcoat condition. Also trailer is new aluminum. How many miles on trailer? How new are batteries? Is bilge spotless? Nice removable segment in bow rail for trolling motor.

    25SE progress

Really nice looking boat and truck. That boat size and config is going to be my next build. Blue hull looks sharp.

    Waterproofing Console in 1801 CC

Airflow is what you want. Keep the side door on the console cracked open with a bungie cord and then make sure your cover has a vent that propped open. It’s like a tent. Also woody wax keep mildew off for some time.

    Ready For 2022

Jerry cans wear me out. I now use two 12 gallon tanks in back of the truck and use a harbor freight wand pump. Helps from having to lift jerry cans all day over the gunnel onto the deck. I may just fill the truck and pump from Truck tank to boat.

    Ready For 2022

I’m waiting to see $10 / gal at the gas dock. I better start jerry canning it in from the Indian reservation. Lots of work. 20, 5 gallon cans.

    Waterproofing Console in 1801 CC

I see. I sure don’t like those plastic and or rubber boot covers. I can see cracks starting sooner or later. Why don’t they just mold in a raised lip or dam that is big and clear and then snap that cover on like flashing on a roof curb. Maybe that’s what they did here.

    1994 1800

Smart move on the rod holder angle. I have seen to acute of an angle destroy the usable space in the stern of a boat.

    Waterproofing Console in 1801 CC

Isn’t the console resting on channels for fastening and the rest of the console is lifted up? Water should drain under and past the console floor. Maybe angle or tilt the boat more so it drains better

Need some Non Slip Deck Paint recommendations.

I’ve done three boats with interlux primekote as a primmer that is high build, then two coats of interlux perfection with interlux non skid mix in. I’ve gone 7 years on the first boat and it’s held up. Prep is everything, be very clean and start rolling around 10 am on a clear warm and not...

    1994 1800

Any chance the slight modifications was to make it more narrow by 2”? So 28” wide instead of 30”? I have a 17’ Parker and 28” wide is the right fit.

    Adding t-top to 1801

Get a custom one for just slightly more. Get detailed drawings before the install. Pay attention to the the width of clear space between console and gunnel. 18’ is a good size but gets small fast with a lot of stuff being added. Really think how you will use the boat. I’m going through the same...

Replacing a gas tank on a 1994 17’ center console

I just replaced the steering cable. Now that is a nightmare on a 17’. The rigging tube bottoms out in a cavity before the upturn to the deck under the gunnel. Better have long arms and a 20’ tracer cable.

Replacing a gas tank on a 1994 17’ center console

I’ve seen one other 17’ from the 90’s and it had the tank in the same place. There really isnt another place for it except on deck.
