Buying a new Parker 2320 SC.

Man, you are going to love your new boat. The autopilot is a very nice feature. It will save your fatigue on long offshore days. Did you get the 2nd helm bulkhead mounted in the cockpit? I use mine every trip. Yes, I have determined that 260 miles is my comfortable range. If I find myself...

Anything wrong with keeping the stuffing tube this way?

100% ! It really does open up the cockpit, full transoms with brackets make for much larger useable space. BUT, don't discredit that 2120 yet...it's a beast of a workhorse. But, yeah...you stick w/ it long enough, and you'll be into a 2320 sooner than later...

    Yabbaa-Daba-Do...............Parker2320

That picture looks good. Truly, the only way to completely evaluate the dry exhaust is by removing the powerhead and inspecting. But, w/ that picture and how clean it looks, I would NOT do that. I would chase simple solutions. What a relief!

Do You Keep the Outboard Running

Whenever I fish outside of the inlet, my motor stays on from beginning of the trip, to the end: it doesn't get turned off. When I fish inside the inlet, I will turn the motor off/ on as needed.

Anything wrong with keeping the stuffing tube this way?

Your rigging tube is too confined. It needs to be able to letdown on that Splashwell region uninhibited. I would lay that rigging tube out w/ one part of the tube in front of the other, not stacked on top. Furthermore, I don't think a 165 quart will fit that space without it coming way out into...

Are the pole mounts on the side for rod storage?

If you are referring to the beneath gunnel rod storage, I store 2 gaffs and a boat brush in those locations. I don't put rods down there.

    Trim Tabs and Hydrofoil

What motor is on your 2120? I would not consider a hydrofoil unless you can't get slow enough planing speeds or you can't get your transom out of the hole fast enough. Personally, no, I don't think you'll need a hydrofoil, but rather the correct prop and motor mounting hole height placement...

    Another 2320 new guy

ok ok...you know the rules. New guy new boat: GOT to post some pictures for us: We love boat pics! Congrats. that's a beast of a hull.

    Cracks at bow tie?

What year is your hull again? It would never be wrong to go into your anchor locker, remove the bow eye, clean up that area. Then reseat w/ 4200 fast cure. But, with the gelcoat crack there, I would not want water to sneak in and intrude that lamination. There are numerous ways to load a...

    Newbie

20 hour service is really easy. It’s motor oil, oil filter, gear oil. Also a good opportunity to look at all your fasteners especially the steering. My Seastar retention bolt was loose at my 20 hour service. After shaking her down for 20 hours, tighten anything that came loose and you should be...

    Yabbaa-Daba-Do...............Parker2320

Well yaaabbbaa dabbba doooo to you man! Your excitement is contagious! Also have a 2320. I am sorry to say that your year, motor is suspect for the dreaded dry exhaust corrosion. Google it. It's the yamaha 3.3 liter motors from 2000-2012. I would not continue to run it until your yamaha...

2320 batteries? What does what? Charger recommendations??

Identical to 12Parker2320: 1 cranking battery, 1 house battery. Noco Genius 2 bank 10 amps / bank. I don't know how you have your batteries configured. But, simply removing a negative battery lead, then testing loads should help you isolate your banks and determine what comes off each battery.

Took her out for the first time today

The vibration you describe is not normal And needs investigating (unbalanced prop, bent prop shaft, check all your bolts, mounting bolts, steering bolts, Seastar ram, etc..). If it was prop chatter, it should go away at any rpm above 12/1300. Have someone video tape your hands on the wheel...
