'91 1700 upgrade and rerig progress

In February 2012 I purchased a 1991 1700 CC that was repowered in '06 with a Yamaha 115 2 stroke. I had been looking for about two years for the right first personal boat to mess around in the Chesapeake with. Finally found this: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11241 This boat fit the bill better than...

    Minor Repair 21 SE

I would scuff and clean the mating surfaces of the supports and bond them in place with something like this stuff...screw back in place to align and draw things up tight. http://www.westsystem.com/ss/new-six10-epoxy-adhesive/ Would not use starboard for anything structural like this, but...

    1988 18 cc repower

Tough...I'd like the speed of the F150, but the weight of the F115, even though it's only about 80lbs different. Not sure how well the older style hull 1800 vs 1801 can handle engine weight...that would be my main concern. I would be considering a 2 stroke for that hull, either a good used...

What was the Starboard Color again?

Most everything at Fin Addict is made to order, so it shouldn't be a big deal to get dimensions changed. I had vertical rodholders made to my depth and length requirements for no additional cost.

What was the Starboard Color again?

If you need something smaller, here's another option for starboard parts...they do a lot of work direct for Parker. http://www.finaddictmarine.com/

    Stringer layout for the 1700.

    1701 Parker?

Think they were made from about 91-97. They are awesome little hulls...they feel huge for barely 17'. Couple little quirks but nothing too serious. They can handle surprisingly big water, but still have to pick your days to be comfy and dry. I have a 91 with an 06 115 Yamaha 2...

    1700CC gas tank leak

I have a drawing from Parker of the 1700 stringer and tank layout...but it's at the office and can't get at it til Wednesday at the earliest due to the storm. Please, please, please take pictures of all the steps and post them! They are indispensable for us with the same hull!

    Sealing/filling console to deck gap

On my 1700, a little water collects between bottom of the console and the deck after rain or washing. Fish scales, drinks, who knows what else also finds it's way in there. It tends to not dry completely and turns to green nastyness around the edges, even when washed fairly frequently. Also...

    hpdi engine sputter

Double check the plugs they specify, the required ones for HPDIs changed a lot in the years they were built. If you want to get really adventurous, you can run a higher heat plug...NGK makes this really easy to do with their part numbers.

    Best performing Prop for 1801

First off...is it a F115 (four stroke) or regular 115 two stroke? Think most all 2S engines came with 2.0:1. Not exact setup but might help...I have a 1992 1700 with an '06 115TLR 2S. It has a PowerTech SCD 3 blade 19" pitch SS prop. I have been told it's basically a SS copy of the prop you...

    Parker 1700 Portsmouth, RI

Nice looking 17! I wish mine had the taller console like you have. Do you have any speed and fuel burn #s? She must go well with the etec and jackplate.

    Cup holders and storage

I'm having some rod holders and blank dash panels made up by Fin Addict Marine, I believe they make starboard components for Parker, maybe some others. He has the right colored material to match. I called up, told him what I saw on the website and how I needed it changed, no problems. Should...

1801 (used) right boat for my useage? (Central New York)

I'd check what type of bottom paint it is, either epoxy based hard or soft/ablative. May be easier to get him to give the name/brand and do your research. If it's hard, you can sand it down and put a nice smooth coat of hard on top that will look pretty good. You can change colors without...

1801 (used) right boat for my useage? (Central New York)

I grew up fishing bass and pike in the Thousand Islands just north of you in a 19' dual console Grady, sometimes on an older 20' CC Mako, tin boats every now and then. I now have a 17 Parker on the Chesapeake. The Grady is a great boat but the DC layout is not the best for fishing, especially...

    WTB Garmin BlueChart Chesapeake

I'm sure he has them, was hoping to find one someone is no longer using and save a couple dollars.

    Rod holders in off-white

I'm looking for a pair of 3-rod vertical holders in off-white/tan/seafoam or similar color for the side of my console. The normal white is way too bright and stands out way too much against the Parker gelcoat. I found these individually, but was hoping to find a pre made unit...

    WTB Garmin BlueChart Chesapeake

I need a BlueChart for the Chesapeake bay, model MUS006R or 010-C0020-00. It's for a 172C, and the g2 and g2 Vision will not work. Anybody have one?

    Is yamalube worth it?

From a race perspective...we ran twin Merc 2.5L 300 hp 8500rpm race motors on offshore raceboats for a few years. They have basic fuel injection and are designed for premix anywhere from 30-1 to 50-1, depending on how the motors would have to be run...but they also get re ringed every 2-3 races...
