    Jackplate on a 1801?

I don’t know much about Etecs other than they are faster and lighter than a F115 Yamaha fourstroke. I’m running 5800-6k rpm and 35-37mph. Planning speeds are 16-18mph 3300rpm. Cruising speed 25-28mph 4400-4600rpm. Idk what your rev limit is on the 2 stroke. I don’t expect it to rev as high as...

    Jackplate on a 1801?

Your hull will accelerate out of the hole a lot better and you will be able to get more bite in rough chop by adjusting the plate. Max performance for any hull is a combo of engine height, prop choice and hp, I prefer acceleration and low end control as running in 2ft chop I can use the motor to...

    Jackplate on a 1801?

I think I gained 200 rpm and just about 2 mph depending on wind and current. Then lost it with the wheelhouse lol. They are not fast hull, 45mph to 50 is probably the max but unstable at those speeds. There are no lifting strakes and the deadrise is 14. A formula 233 is a fast hull, hence all...

    Jackplate on a 1801?

Look into your prop. If you want more bow lift a 3 blade. 4 blade is more stern lifting. In the chop and following seas you want more bow lift anyhow, chop I tab down to get more of the sharp bow entry in water to help the pounding

    Jackplate on a 1801?

Couple of things. I initially was going to do the same thing hence the thread I started. I raised my motor to the highest setting because on plane my anticavitation plate was buried. I still believe it can come up more. I’m running a 4 blade and it likes to run high, but high speed turns make it...

    Weight considerations: repowering a 98' 1800?

Yes. That’s were I got the inspiration. I see all these 20ft sea crafts brackets with closed transoms, they are lighter then the Parker and have the same overall length, in fact the sea craft 20 may be smaller. They have less beam forward and steeper deadrise in stern but the hulls ride fine...

    Weight considerations: repowering a 98' 1800?

I think it’s the best bang, especially with lean burn. It’s basically a souped up 115hp motor. For the money, I believe 12-14k rigged it’s hard to beat, looks beautiful in white and has the option if I’m not mistaken for flyby wire, which would be my choice anyhow. Can swing bigger prop too. I...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

finally have about 10 or so trips in various locations and conditions. the console is able to support the structure no problem. I have made it out in the atlantic ocean 3 times on calmer days with 2-3ft swells. the boat handles softer, as a result of the added weight, there is no extra rolling...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

This post concludes my build thread. I hope anyone who followed or read through the posts appreciated or enjoyed! I have taken my 1801 through all the customizations and upgraded that I can do minus, a bracket and closed transom, but I will not be doing that. It’s been a real pleasure to work...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Finally made it out to give it a thorough test and trails. Here is what I found Under WOT 34-35 mph which is roughly 99 percent of my speed before this project Planes out just the same 3600-3700rpm Handles nearly identical on anchor in a slight to moderate chop and headsea No change in...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Thank you man. Indeed I do. 3 months working with fiberglass gives you a great idea of how to use it. Can do any repair now with no issues, plus fabrication options are now endless. Great project, not for everyone but if you stay committed you can achieve great results

    1994 Parker 1801 project

love your build bro! I want to build a proper doghouse like that, love the angles and lines on it. That mold you have is money!! Your Uncle owns Pacific Pilothouse right?

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Finally got it all done. Minor delay. Got impatient and decided to try and seal it without an extra set of hands and wound up damaging the corner edge, had to take it down repair and repaint most of it since 2 part polyurethane paints are mostly difficult to repair. Upsized my hardware, and...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

So I went ahead and upsized the connection bolts for 2 reasons, one I was finishing while torquing the 10-24 carriage bolts they were flexing way too much for my liking, and 2) the carriage bolt head diameter from the outside provided little to no surface area like you mentioned to me in the...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Thank you bro, coming from you and your background that means a lot! Hoping my connections are strong enough to support this.

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

My pleasure bro. Good luck, and glass away!! Proportion and symmetry will make or break the look. Sketch it out first and scale your drawings you will learn a lot quickly. If you’re going to build a reverse raked window I’d go with 15 degree anything over that looks too aggressive for 18-20ft...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Took a video to show how it’s mounted and the strength connection. I mean, unless a 300lb guy is trying to rip it off the console with an explosive Olympic lift I think it’s probably fine. I think even a t top will shake and twist.

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Here what I have done, it wasn’t an easy chore but I think for the most part the pilot house to console connection should be solid enough. I had to custom cut and grind 1 inch wide pieces of 1/4 aluminum flat stock, and carefully align the bolts which was very difficult since the entry point of...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Too late lol. I’m gonna have to settle on 130lbs. Nidacore would be a lot lighter as would Cossa or straight glass layup with core Matt, however this one was done with good old fashion ply and poly. I usually boat solo but I have zero doubts that this will affect the ride or provide any issues...
