    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Got it up with the help of my neighbor and they were in awe and didn’t believe I built the house. Well it’s up on console and getting bolted and wired. Next post will be a review of the performance and how and if I’d change anything

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

No, it’s not 30 lbs tho, I’d estimate 120-130lbs. But it’s build like a brick shut house. thank you brother. You never know what to expect.

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Windows installed, need to mount the launchers and lights and get it up on the console. Pleased with the results and hope it serves its purpose. Learned a lot and am happy to have tried my hand at fiberglass work, it’s very rewarding to step back and admire something I designed and fabricated...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Interlux perfection 2 stage rolled no tipping. 3 coats, took a bit of messing with thinner and application techniques to get it nearly perfect. Great product but there are many variables that can ruin your finish. Windows go in tomorrow

They are incredible boats, especially when they were built the right way before the Parker family sold the business. Check all your through hull and deck fittings, I would replace all sealant on pie plates and and screwed fixtures that penetrate the deck or cap. Boat life is great stuff, just...

    Wheelhouse/doghouse build

Hello, I have been posting my build in a different thread however I feel it’s probably better to start my own and post pictures and updates to anyone interested, may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I figured I’d share because down the line you never know if someone can find this useful for a...

    2024 2100SE Radar mount

Not to derail but since I have a mechanical engineer who has some experience in structural bolting, I am currently finishing a wheelhouse build and through bolting it to my console with 3/16 SS carriage bolts backed with a plate. The Parker 1801 console is beefy but I don’t believe it’s through...

    Hydraulic Steering

I ran uflex on my 1801, best 1000 bucks I spent. No more elbow pain. Upgrade the hoses to the flex high pressure 1500 hoses. 22 kit OB is the length needed for an 18. Install isnt bad, getting the wheel off tapered shaft is a bitch, I took the sawzall out and cut it off and just pulled the...

    NC Wildlife 21’ Parker Purchase

I agree with you assessment. Like your transom reinforcement. Looks like they created a bulkhead and knee braces to tie transom into deck. Where is the bilge access? How thick is the transom? I wonder if this is something we can do to hang more hp, if the lamination scheudle and coring the same...

    NC Wildlife 21’ Parker Purchase

The transom looks skin looks like it delaminated from the core. That’s a wide and deep crack, I would be curious to see how much water intrusion made it inside the core. I have never seen that on a Parker hull, maybe the overpowered motor caused too much flex and it cracked the glass. If you do...

    NC Wildlife 21’ Parker Purchase

Just went through this, that staining on the deck is not rust, it’s the wood tannin leaching out of the wood, that’s a wet core, and by the looks of it the cracking is well past the gelcoat, that looks like the top laminate has cracked, I would get a grinder out and start grinding the area of...

    Parker 17 / 18 CC wheel house

Making progress, finished my repair on the port bilge finally so I took break from glassing this, plus the heat was just too hard to work in. Started fairing the outside and glassing the inside with 1708. A lot of grinding and sanding but that’s the process. Once the inside is all glassed I’ll...

    Parker 17 / 18 CC wheel house

Looks like he used very few layers of probably 1708 and Matt, if I had to guess 3/16 inch laminate…. Maybe 1/4 but it deff looks a lot thinner, he used stiffeners aft and molded all parts in what I would assume a one off melamine mold. The benefit is the structure is super light weight, easier...

    Parker 17 / 18 CC wheel house

Badass 13 years later thing is still together and looks great! The guy who build that did a great job, I believe the boat is in MA somewhere. The guy who started This thread built it with his father, awesome stuff

    Bilge rust stain Parker 1801

Ok. 2 months later under the cover with a fan running non stop. Finally injected the smiths penetrating epoxy and gave it 2 days to cure. Came back with a grinder and decided to grind up the stress cracks around the stringer as it was most likely cause of them. Ground out a decent area...

    Parker 17 / 18 CC wheel house

Sometime inspiration is all the we need in order to succeed. I’m glad you are going to build your dog house, if you need help feel free to message me, I have the measurements and angles as I drew it all up from my mind and then built it. One thing to keep in mind is the proportions of the house...

    Parker 17 / 18 CC wheel house

Glad you are enjoying it man. Sorry if it’s repetitive, never used glass before but am really enjoying making this as its been a dream for awhile. I think once’s all faired out and gel coated with glass windows and radar it’s going to be awesome!! And I can still sling plugs and fly cast and...

    Parker 17 / 18 CC wheel house

I’m happy with the result. 2 layers of 1.5oz Matt outside, 3 in radius windows. 1 inch crown top with 24 inch overhang. Will be through bolted in existing windshield location with 5/16 stainless hardware and steel backing plate. Laminated 1/4 glass windows with extruded locking window gaskets...
