How hot does your cabin get?

For inshore/nearshore sometimes open windows are not a good idea due to baracuda gnats (that come thru the screens).

How hot does your cabin get?

The 2120 I installed the rooftop a/c on is not used for fishing, rather for pleasure boating and overnighting on the hook and on the trailer. Without the a/c we'd be severely restricted in the boat's use because it would be unbearable in the heat. I guess it all depends on whether you're moving...

    Parker wants your input!!!!

I was part owner of a Parker but didn't finish the survey...too many unrelated questions. Keep it short and next time you'll get my opinion.

Bow thruster on a 23 foot

Personally I think it's a great idea. I am terrified every time I get close to a dock - not that it stops me from going out, but boating would be so much more enjoyable if I could rid myself of that anxiety. And even if I was proficient at docking, I still think it would be a blast to just have...

    Mooring with a bow pulpit

Maybe fix one of these to attach the the mooring line to the bow eye - they come in SWL to over 9,000 lbs. They don't give the SWL for the caribiner. http://www.mauriprosailing.com/us/categ ... levis.html And run a stout line from the mooring line up to the deck to drop over a cleat. As you...

    Mooring with a bow pulpit

This is the square I cut out of MokeeDugway's roof (2120) for the air conditioner...balsa and paste.

    Mooring with a bow pulpit

Why not install cleats instead of beefed up chocks?

    Mooring with a bow pulpit

Would using the bow eye be an option?

    portable AC Unit

That R2D2 unit takes up a lot of interior space, must be secured well and the hose is very awkward. We tried it both in the boat and in the van - we weren't happy with the R2D2 unit in either place. http://72land-n-sea.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... rator.html

    NOAA Paper Charts

I keep my paper charts because they are kind of a diary of where I was and how I got there. Te DR plots are nothing short of entertaining. I only use them at home for nostalgic purposes. Today I boat without paper and have even removed my compass in favor of a beer holder...and to think I used...

    I/O vs Outboard

I've had Yamaha, Honda, Etec. I've never liked the idea of an i/o. Then I bought a 40 year old boat with a Volvo Penta i/o because it was that boat or nothing. I'd read about the cost of parts and was terrified at first but came to find out the motor is actually a small block Chevy and even...

    fuel life

My experience has been you can run extremely old fuel through a carbed motor, but modern motors are a different story.

    Parker Sandwich

Thanks Mokee, for a great time on Lake Kerr. Your new 200 Yammy sure was a comfort considering our rigs are over 40 years old.

    Anyone here in Charleston SC

Don't have a Parker and can't help with fishing, but Charleston SC is our home saltwater port.

    Replacement Marine Battery

Ford/Chevy, notched/bracket...I get mine at Walmart and at the first hint of a problem after the warranty I replace it. My b-i-l put a $400 battery in our travel trailer and it failed one month after the 2yr warranty. I'm not convinced that the electrons from that fancy battery did us any more...

    Big Duck to Strom Thurmond

I miss the Parker, but that doesn't mean I miss boating adventures (both on and off the water - and off road too!). http://72land-n-sea.blogspot.com/2013/08/big-duck-ventures-to-lake-strom-thurmond.html
