NOAA Paper Charts

For those of us that enjoy the old fashioned charts, they will be discontinued soon.

Print on demand (POD) charts will continue.

PDFs of the NOAA charts are currently available on a trial basis, though not clear for how long.

I keep my paper charts because they are kind of a diary of where I was and how I got there. Te DR plots are nothing short of entertaining. I only use them at home for nostalgic purposes. Today I boat without paper and have even removed my compass in favor of a beer holder...and to think I used to use celestial fixes.

Im not so sure removing the compass was a good idea........... :shock:

To many people relying on electronics these days in my opinion thats how you get yourself in trouble, I always look at my compass and use reference points based on compass headings just in case that "trusty" GPS decides to go out
