    TRAILER TIRE WEAR

Mokee's 2120 had a similar problem. We had the trailer wheels aligned (to the tune of over $300). Didn't fix the problem. Came to find out the rubber in the torsion system had gone south. He opted for a new trailer.

    New propeller question

I tried 15 different props on my outboard, plastic to stainless, 3's & 4's. I ended up with the 3 blade aluminum that came with the boat. There's much besides the prop style/pitch that can contribute to poor performance...contaminated fuel, motor tune, hook/rocker, dirty bottom, bent/nicked prop.

Best trailer for 2520. bunk or roller?

I shied away from the roller trailer because I'm not a fan of moving parts. At one point, I had that slippery plastic on my bunks, but I had to leave it in gear while loading so I could attach the winch...otherwise she's slide back off the trailer. I also worried about going down the road with...

    Additional battery or not?

I used to carry a jumper box...which occasionally needed to be charged. Then it dawned on me - there's a tiny battery in that box, why not just get a battery that's the size of the jumper box and permanently mount it in the boat with an ACR? So I did. Only one time did I need that extra battery...

Are 18x9 bennett tabs too big for 1801?

My original install was without the indicator. It wasn't long before I wanted to know where the tabs were. WHY? When the boat is doing something that you want to correct like pounding or listing or not jumping out of the hole, the first thing you ask yourself is 'where are the tabs now?' 'cause...

Are 18x9 bennett tabs too big for 1801?

You don't really need to get your hand at the hole inside the transom. You can use a fish tape to pull the tubing and wiring through...as long as you know there's clearance. In my case, there was a block of positive floatation foam very near the hole, which could have complicated the...

Are 18x9 bennett tabs too big for 1801?

My Bennetts were smaller and didn't go on a Parker, but the installation is still pretty much the same. Measure I didn't want to have the fastener holes go all the way through, so I made a block that not only limited the depth, but also was a guide for a vertical hole. Fill the...

Are 18x9 bennett tabs too big for 1801?

I've never known the folks at Bennett to steer you wrong. Indicator lights are a must. Self retract was more than I wanted to spend and i never missed it.

    Water in Bilge

Has a little water in the bilge ever caused a problem? I lived aboard a sailboat for 3 years and the shower drained into the bilge. On my last 4 boats, a dry bilge has never been a priority...in fact water in the bilge was/is normal day. I have a piezo siren on my dash that sounds when the pump...

gps shuts off couple other problems

One of the probs with a failing battery is that it can show max voltage after a charge but will quickly go south after the slightest load.

    Which Handheld to Buy

Not sure why anyone would buy a hand held stand alone GPS today. Any smartphone can get that job done, with NOAA or Navionics charts. My tablet goes with me on the boat and using downloaded charts I can navigate even without a cell signal. Might have a look at one of these if you want a...
