    Water Pump Replacement

On the one hand.... it will probably be just fine if you wait. But... what if it isn't? It really is an easy job to do. I've had my water pump run 300 hours and look good. Somewhere I've read..and I believe... it is best not to let it go for more than 2 years as you may encounter frozen bolts.

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

I went ahead and drained the tank. I wound up having about 70 gallons. 20 of that is in my wife's Avalon... hope she doesn't need a tow? :D Assuming it runs OK in her car I'll just keep burning it up that way. I'll add all fresh fuel to the boat and have the peace of mind knowing the fuel...

    anchors

I have a Delta anchor for my 2520 and I'm pretty sure it is the lighter 14 lb. I've never had a problem with it holding. Stick with what you've got. Why go lighter.... the ProFish 1000 is doing all the work and not cracking a sweat! Richard

    Need Opinions on Dinghies...

From what I've found so far an inflatable is the way to go. I'm amazed at how many makers of inflatables there are. For what I need rowing will be all that's needed but it will be hard not to buy a small motor for it.

    Need Opinions on Dinghies...

I want to spend more time on our barrier islands here on the Eastern Shore and when the water is cold the best way to do that is to anchor the boat in water deep enough where I don't get stranded on low tide and hop in a dinghie that I've carried out on the boat. I'm considering rigid vs...

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

I've got a source of containers and I figure I might as well take this opportunity to drain, inspect and just get it done. If for no other reason I'll be happier (assuming I don't blow myself up in the process!) Thanks for all the words of wisdom. Richard

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

I'm already on ethanol. No issues during the transition.

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

Thanks Dale. Tom... you say I can see the fuel... and see water or debris if it there? I guess that is a reason to go ahead and check it that way. I'm sure that whatever gasket you are talking about will need replacing.. that is the way things are going. Let me add another question here...

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

Yes... Spring. The sun is shining and in two days they say it will hit 66 freeking degrees  I've got about 10 projects underway to have the boat in the water around the 26th of this month... no later than April 1st. I was changing my Racor S3213 and it got me a little worried about the...

F225 Lower End Oil and Seal

Well.... I guess I'll run around 10 hours or so and check the oil. There isn't any leaking so at least that is a good sign.

F225 Lower End Oil and Seal

The last time it was changed was at the shop... so I didn't see the oil that went in. Are there some greenish looking products? R

F225 Lower End Oil and Seal

Today I was feeling motivated by the 60 degree weather and got the motor oil changed as well as the water pump and lower end oil. The lower end oil had a green color... I don't think it was green when it went in... so I'm assuming some amount of water has intruded. Does anyone have experience...

    CABELAS AGM BATTERIES

Around October I had a Cabela group 27 AGM that would not take a charge. I'm assuming it had a shorted cell. It was right at 3 years old. I replaced them both with Lifeline AGMs.... Cost a bunch but from what I've read they are considered the best. The Lifeline's look better, stronger...

    windless install

I would question your installers motives and abilities... assuming it is a stock pulpit it is NOT too thick on top of the pulpit. The Pro Fish 700 and 1000 comes with mounting bolts that are almost twice as long as the pulpit is thick. It takes a little more work with the drill and hole...

    York River: Two missing...

I spent the day in the yard working on the boat and other things. I had the radio on the whole time. I listened to the coast guard coordinate this search. http://www.wavy.com/dpp/news/local_news ... ng-boaters

will a Paker Pilot house completely sink?

Buddy, Sorry if I sounded like I was suggesting you needed anything... that was not my intent... I took the opportunity to suggest to Keven a thread on safety would be an overal good thing. As far as any other content... I was just stating the obvious as I see it and in no way suggesting there...

will a Paker Pilot house completely sink?

Kevin... Sometime soon as spring approaches you should start a thread on safety... equipment that should be on every boat...check list for that first dip after a long winter.... what every capt. should know.. that sort of thing...

    flood lights

I can tell you that I've never been real happy with my ACR RCL 100. In my opinion it is too slow and not bright enough... but it really looks good on the boat. What I'd like is a manual light like this... but maybe brighter. http://www.reddenmarine.com/marine-supp ... t-12v.html

    Question About Dinghies..

The 8' weighs in at 75lbs so it shouldn't be that hard getting it in and out of the boat.
