How accurate are Yamaha digital gauges?

The Yamaha bar graph fuel gauge on my 23 SE is not even close to accurate. The gauge stays at or near the top until I have used about 60% of the tank. Then all of a sudden, it drops down below half way. I have been contemplating Kevin's suggestion to add an aftermarket fuel consumption gauge...

    Fuel flow gauge

My standard Yamaha fuel gauge gives only a rough approximation of remaining fuel level at best. I am considering adding some other type of sensor and gauge that gives accurate fuel tank levels as well as real-time fuel consumption so I can monitor fuel consumption at different engine speeds...

Ethanol article - Chesapeake Bay magazine - and a question..

Kevin - I'm sure the Admiral wouldn't mind fueling up down this way. If you would like some center console action later in the summer, you can meet me in the South River, and we can explore the Liberty fuel dock before starting the fishing.

Ethanol article - Chesapeake Bay magazine - and a question..

On Sat., I added 74 gallons of E10 midgrade gas to my 110-gallon tank. I ran for an hour or so, then headed in. I replaced the existing fuel/water separator with a new Yamaha 10-micron (blue) filter. I dumped the contents of the old filter into a bucket and saw only clean gas. I hope that...

    Locking front console seat

When I bought my 23 SE (one-year used) from the dealer, I wrote into the contract that they would install locking mechanism for the front seat lid and the door on the side of the console. When I came to get the boat, they handed my the Perko hardware and said they had decided not to install it...

    new member 21se

Congratulations on the new boat. After seeing all the great pictures of Parker pilothouse boats, I am happy to have some company from the ranks of the SE crowd. Mine is a 23 SE without a hard top. It is ideal for my use in the Chesapeake Bay.

    Pilothouse Floor Covering Trial

Although I have a center console rather than a pilothouse style boat, I have looked at flooring for the area between the console and the leaning post. My feet do not take a pounding very well, so I purchased a 3' x 3' red rubber mat at Sam's Club. This is meant for industrial usage, like...

    Experience with 25 Special Edition

Thanks Kevin. Maybe I can ride with you for one of the SRRKC outings. I am not sure why I got tempted with "two-foot-itis". I am plenty happy with my current boat. I was actually relieved when I saw that boat and realized the layout was not good for fishing. That took the pressure off.

    Experience with 25 Special Edition

I went to see the boat after work today. It was beautiful, but not what I wanted. I am relieved that the decision was so easy. The area in front of the cockpit was not all wide-open space. There was a 2-3 foot wide built in bench around the entire front. While this would be nice for seating...

    Experience with 25 Special Edition

I made the mistake of looking at the Boats for Sale section of the Annapolis paper yesterday. I saw a 2004 25 SE with a 225-hp 4-stroke with low hours listed for sale. I have been running a 23 SE for the past four years and am very satisfied. However, I would enjoy the extra room of the 25...

    advice -- 23 w/a vs 23 sportcabin

Brian - I also live in Annapolis and run a 23 SE center console. I plan to dewinterize and launch this weekend for the first trip of the year. If you want a ride some time to see how the SE handles the Chesapeake Bay conditions, let me know ([email protected]). The offer extends to others in...

    New model introduced ...

I looked through my photo archives and found two additional prototypes that never made it into mass production.

    Europian "parker"

I have visited several Mediterranean countries and noticed very few center console style boats there. This photo was taken in the small harbor at Dubrovnik, Croatia. With the exception of a few open skiffs, all the boats have some type of cabin, even the 14-18 footers.

    Storage

A few weeks ago I posted information on the Projects section of this site for storage ideas on my 23 SE. http://classicparker.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=163

Great site. Better late than never.

Welcome aboard, Uncle Matt - It seems like most of the board members own Parker models with cabins or walk-arounds. I'm glad to see another 23 SE owner.

Adding seating and storage on a 23SE

I love my 23 SE, and appreciate it's spacious single-level floor. However, the downside to not having a raised foredeck is that you lose the storage area there. I wanted to come up with a multi-purpose dry storage and seating arrangement. I decided to place two large coolers in the bow area...

    Bilge Pump Upgrade Project

Kevin - Did you ever consider writing a "how-to" book for backyard mechanics or maybe getting your own TV show? Nice work and good documentation.

    Parker Charter Onboard

I organized a charter with Capt. Wayne during the 2005 trophy rockfish season. Although the weather was unpleasant that day, we filled our limit. My fish was 40.5" and 24 lb (I am the tall guy on the right with the tan Parker hat).

    Another Annapolis Parker owner

Brother Graybeard - I originally tried to post in a manner that I have used on other fishing sites, but it would not work here. However, this website has a simple Add-an-Attachment function that shows up when you are ready to post a reply. It allows you to browse through your computer to find...

    Another Annapolis Parker owner

When I made the original post yesterday, I was unable to use the attach-photo feature. I am trying again today.
