18 cc repower I am restoring and repowering a1988 18 cc parker .Trying to decide on f115 orf150 yamaha Ill be using mainly on river and ches bay . Thanks for advice Harryc.

Tough...I'd like the speed of the F150, but the weight of the F115, even though it's only about 80lbs different.

Not sure how well the older style hull 1800 vs 1801 can handle engine weight...that would be my main concern.

I would be considering a 2 stroke for that hull, either a good used Yamaha 115 v4 (made til 06?) or a new Etec 115 or 130 both at 375 lbs.

Good call BradH. you need to watch the weight if you are talking newer 4 strokes or bigger engines. main problem is the scuppers go below water level or get real close. whatever HP
2 stroke the boat was rated for I would find the weight and try to not exceed it. Remember HP to HP 4 strokes are heavier than 2 strokes

Your boat originally came with a 115 but was rated for a 150. Hands down it really is a great performer with the 150. The weight of an early 90's 150 is 425 lbs and the scuppers were above the waterline. If you put the f150 on it and the weight was marginal you could relocate your batteries to under the console and solve the problem.
