Hello to all,

In July 2013 I purchased my first Parker. It is a 1994 2320 Extended Cabin. It has some minor cosmetic issues but for the most part it's solid and clean.

When I purchased the boat it had an old Volvo Penta DP 5.0L FL (Ford 302, 190 HP). I knew I would have to replace it at some point but after a couple seasons of problems and pumping money and time into it I decided to repower now.

Originally I was going to do an outboard conversion but seeing that I have two young children that need my attention and time I decided to go with a fresh water cooled I/O which would be much easier solution. After much research and talking with some I/O pros I went with the VP SP 5.7L GXiE (320 HP). I've taken the boat out a few times since then and couldn't be happier. The boat handles like a dream and has way more speed. The electronic throttle is to die for. I haven't gone nearly as fast as she's capable because 35 MPH is fast enough for me.

The new engine has given new life to this Classic Parker. My boating season is nearly over but I'm very excited for next season and the adventures to come.

Love it! With family and co$ts, I think you made a good & practical choice!

I just wish Parker would place the motor in the middle of the cockpit and runs jack shaft to the drive.

Nice power plant! Take good care of that outdrive. Lots of cleaning and keep it well protected with anti-fouling paint. replace gimble boot periodically, before it develops cracks and leaks.

Very cool - congrats on the repower. After owning a number of second hand boats, I have now come to the conclusion that EVERY used boat one buys needs to be repowered and the longer one waits, the bigger waste of money and time. I've seen very few exceptions to this rule of thumb in the last 15 years...

I've got a '93 2320 with the extended cabin and an outboard on a bracket. I fiddle-dinked around for about 2 years pouring money and time into the Ox66 2-stroke it had when I bought her. Now she's wearing a Honda BF225. I'd sure love to see how she'd do with 320 hp!

I'm curious about your galley and dinette setup - do you have any interior photos you can share? Also is that a canvas rear curtain or a two-part door? (hard to tell from the photos.)

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. I am very excited to have this done and out of the way. Now instead of working on the boat all winter I'll be able to spend time with the kiddos.

Twoboater: I was hesitant about going the I/O route but after a ton of research and talking with the pros I feel confident in this power plant. The fresh water cooling is a must and along with that I got an active corrosion protection system for the drive (well worth the money).

SBH20MAN:
I don't have any interior photos of the boat with me. I'm at work for the next two weeks on my other boat

When I get home I'll take a few for you. I have a one burner stove top under the captains chair and a small sink aft of that.

Thanks Brent... Just posted on there as well... Our boats do look alike... I had the same color canvas too but I changed it to black to go with my red/black color scheme... I used regular outdoor acrylic paint from my local hardware store... Worked great and saved me some loot...
