I love the look of a boot stripe and at one point I did have one but the older MVSC's have low freeboard and I think a boot stripe makes it look even "lower" IMHO.

That is true. I have one of the older MVSC boats with the 14 degree deadrise, but I rather enjoy the lower freeboard, especially when fishing.
One of the photos below I shot at Knapps Narrows Marina on Tilghman Island (MD).
Notice the difference in height between my MVSC and the 16 degree 2520XL next to me. I was feeling like a lowrider next to that guy. :D

I did a 2" boot stripe last spring that is 1" off of the bottom paint. Don't have any decent in water photos (yet).
Gotta get B-Faithful to pause from slaying fish long enough to take some in-water shots for me.

Kevin - Yep! The original Sou'wester 25's were targeted for commercial application so lower freeboard and a modified vee hull requiring less HP were what the watermen wanted. Our 2520 14 degree modified vee's are from the same original 25 Sou'wester hull molds.

Low rider rides a little lower ...

... Mod-hulls run a little slower ...

Ode ala ZZ Top!

Warthog: We fish in Delaware Bay exclusively which is releatively shallow (5-30 ft) so 300 ft of line is plenty for this application and fits in our locker with the motor mounted under deck. I went with the F850A vertical because I prefer the look of a vertical plus it is the only windlass I am aware where you do not need to tie off the rode to a cleat when you lock up the gypsy. This is documented in their user manual!

It does make for a clean look. :)

Now to the rewiring and new Garmin package installation which was performed by WE R Marine (Wayne Ryan) of Vincentown, NJ.

Electronics:
Upgraded electronics with a Garmin 7212, GSD 24 Sounder Unit + Airmar B60 12 Degree Tilted Element Thru Hull transducer, and GMR 24 HD Radar Dome mounted on Seaview stainless Mount with a 4 degree wedge.

We cut a piece of PVC in half to make a wire chase covered in headliner carpet for the roof and between front windows to hide the GPS and Radar wires.

WE R Marine manufactured a custom base for the Garmin multifunction display out of Fishwhite colored King marine starboard that allows you to rotate the unit to see from helm seat as well as cockpit by drilling thru the center the of the mount. Provides a nice looking, very stable mount.

Rewire of entire harness + LED Light upgrade:

All wires were replaced to tinned copper (factory harness was plain copper in 2002). Also Blue Sea Add-A-Battery ACR, Blue Sea breakers, fuse box, and all navigation and spreader lights changed to LED (spreader is Coastal Nightlights, cockpit and navigation lights are Attwood)

Really like the Radar Mount.

If you will take the time to bend your wire in 90 deg angles they will look a LOT better where they connect to the Buss bars and fuse panels.

BUT!......I'm guessing your not done yet?

Jim, you have done a lot of nice work on your boat. The Atwood Nav lights are the exact same as what I'm installing. Since I moved the all round light to the spreader mount, I changed it to 12". If you are going to change out your tabs anyway, those 12x18's may be worth the extra trouble of moving the actuators? Good luck with it.

I am behind on updating projects over the last couple years. Here's a few updates starting with a repower to F300 Yamaha.
