Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am new to this forum but not Parker boats. I currently have a 2016 Parker 2320 that has eaten underwater lights since its delivery from Parker.

Obviously, it is time to install different lights. I was hoping that some of you may have had experience upgrading and might share your opinions.

Has anyone found any lighting with the same footprint which could ease installation?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

When you say it "eats" them. Do you mean that the components fail? Or that the material itself gets eaten away/corroded/degraded? Is the boat kept in the water or on a trailer?

No personal experience but I've heard very good things about the Lumitec line. I have a few of their other products and have found them to be very well built. They're on the list for my CC project.

When I say it eats them, I mean that the lights fail. Cosmetically they look fine but just stop working. I have gone through 6 sets, and the boat was four years old in April this year. Even if the boat was kept in the water, I could not see going through that many lights in that short of a time frame. It was ok as long as the warranty was in play but am aggravated at just having to deal with it. The boat is kept on a trailer and is maintained meticulously.

After talking with the service manager yesterday, he finally admitted that the underwater lights that come on the Parker have a very high failure rate. He also recommended Lumitec lighting, which I have started to review. I was hoping that someone had already addressed the research and had discovered something that would cover the "footprint" of the current Parker light and something that might be more reliable on the market.

After looking through the Lumitec website, it appears they have some very nice products. I will have to wait until I get back to the boat to measure the light footprint and see how it comes through the transom.

Gotcha. Any idea what brand and model of light is installed from the dealer? That would be good information to have. You could probably look up the installation manual online, and compare it to the installation manual for different Lumitec models that are available.

After conducting a pretty thorough search, it's hard to find many instances where the Lumitec's failed, and in almost all of them the company made it right. They're definitely on the expensive side of the spectrum but as many are saying, you get what you pay for.

Lumitec definitely seems to be a quality product. I did spend some quality time with the service manager and the problem is the Parts are straight from Parker as a one for one swap. It isn't identified by a manufacturer's name. The only way to look at what I have is to remove it from the boat. Since it is sealed in place, I was trying to get information before I opened up a hole in the hull.

I did contact Parker directly and was rather shocked at there response. They referred me back to the dealer since they were busy building boats. That was awesome.

Did you ever end up installing the Lumitec lights?
