2022 Yamaha 150 gauge lighting

I ran my SE21 at night yesterday and the illumination of the two Yamaha LCD gauges really is disappointing.
I can turn on lighting when any gauge button is touched but they don't stay on for more than a few seconds. Is there a way to increase the backlight or get the darn things to stay on?

If they are "timing out" it sounds like its a supply voltage issue. Did this just start happening?

It's a brand new boat. 2022 motor, 20hrs.

Either the gauge is faulty or the supply voltage for the lighting to that gauge needs to be addressed.
I would test the wire feeding the back light first.

Is the “timing out” consistent? Do they turn off at the same interval each time?

So when your back lighting "times out" is it the same amount of time each time?
and does it remain at 12.4vdc after that time?
Will it come back on if you power cycle?
I'd check ground wires too.

All I have to do is simply touch one of the buttons on the gauge and the back light comes on again, but then it times out it’s very dim. My question is, can I brighten these somehow because I’ve seen on the Internet where gauges can be brightened

that sounds like an auto dim feature to help with eye strain at night. There has to be some documentation on the operation and features of your model gauge(s)
Did you go through the option functions? Watch the video i linked to get access.

Just hit "mode" and "set" at the same time for a couple seconds. You'll see "off" or "1-5". Off is backlighting turned on/off, the 1-5 is backlight intensity which your can adjust up or down with either button on the gauge. I leave every gauge on 5 that I come across, no reason to turn it off.

Sounds simple enough.
That took care of it and it stays as set.
