Hello, i am new to the forum and looking to purchase a new 21 se. I have a question about the aft seating platform . Is it really necessary to keep water out or is it just for seating. i mostly fish in the stern and it looks tight. I fish/clam mostly in the bay but would like to slip outside on calm days. I also see a few powered with 175 . just looking for a little input before i pull the trigger .

Platform, singular? Could you include a pic of the area to which you are referring?
Anything from a 150 to a 200 would be great, but who ever wanted less power?
Also the 200 needs 89 octane. I don't know about the 175. I would go for that one if it didn't take 89.

My boat is a 2021 and this is before they gave you the option to remove the splashwell. I was able to get the dealer to apply pressure to Parker to build this way for me. Dealer thanked me and told me they get a lot of people that walk away from the boat because of that splashwell

To me that splashwell is useless.if you have rods in the rod holder it is very hard to fish in the stern of the boat.

I love this setup and wouldn’t change it for the world.

I don’t back down on fish and have been anchored in some big chop. I’ve never had an issue of taking water in the bow.

That splashwell is a poor design

Thank you for that info, That's the set up i was looking for. Great looking boat. When I was on the boat it felt tight behind the seat. All the 21s the dealer had were with that aft seating platform. It was the deal breaker for me.I ended up buying a 23se the dealer had left on the lot . I can't wait to get it next week.

Make sure to change out the underwater lights and get a better transducer. The transducer that comes stock doesn’t do chirp or side scan. Also all tbe painted screws around the deck replace with hood 316 screws
