So, I finally got my boat in the water this weekend and tried to replicate the water washing over engine cowling thing. If I jammed the throttle into neutral from a full on plane, I got water about halfway up the engine.
However, I realized that I would NEVER stop my boat like that in a non-emergency. I always ease the throttle down over a three second or so time. Also, I would never jam it onto full RPM for a "hole shot". Same thing about easing up over about three seconds. I guess I'm just not in that much of a hurry!
