I'm thinking of buying a 2009 or a 2010 23SE and was wondering how much room is lost in the bow w/ the new CC and if anyone has ever mounted a poling platform (rear) on a 23SE. Thanks for your help.

I have a 2001 23SE and I measured 85 inches from the front of the console to the forward bulkhead / anchor locker. The Parker website shows 78 inches for today's models. So I guess your answer is you loose 7 inches compared to the older console. I also measured 54 inches from the livewell to the transom and the website shows 55 inches. Hope that helps.

I am not sure what your intentions are for the poling platform. But if you want to pole that boat I think that you are not going to be successful. The boat is too heavy. A 23SE has a shallow draft for a CC, but it is a deep and wide boat compared to boats that pole well.

GaryM, thaks for taking the time to reply to my question. I knew the new CC would take up additional room but I just didn't have the actual measurements.

CapMatt, I was not planning on poling the 23SE. But thanks for your reply. I was thinking on installing a rear casting platform to cast from (additional rod holders) since I will be mostly flyfishing in shore and the flats in the Greath South Bay in Long Islang.

Once again thakns.

A year ago I bought a 21 ft SE and have really liked the boat, so much so that I think I want 2 more feet of it (see my post under "for sale" forum), which is what the 23 really is, or visa versa. Anyway, I have heard there is a world of difference in the ride on the 23, even though the 21 is good. Is having the head worth the loss of deck space with the larger console?

I understand your point, but having two females on board the head space would be a requirement. That's one reason I'm not looking at older 23SE models or another model like the 23 Jones B w/ is in the same class.

Once again thanks for all the input.

I also have the 257 grady white "chase" center console on top of my SE. If girls are around, we go out on the grady...we fish off the parker. The grady as a head and the girls have never once used it... and theyve been on the boat, ALOT
