Looking into getting a new 2300 SE soon. Haven't sea trialed one yet. Any suggestions or info on boat? looking to further my fishing abilities. Just sold my boat a dlv218 carolina skiff. Hoping to still be able to hit the flats and have the ability to run a little off shore.

Its an incredible fishing platform. I own a 21SE and my buddy has the 23SE - bigger, roomier, more stable. It is a modified V so you will need tabs, but its my bucket list boat. And I fish your area often - you will have no issues getting into the skinny stuff and will handle running offshore. Good luck with the boat.

i love my 23se.

the 23se is very capable of a very wide range, but it is def a mod V and is not gonna get anywhere fast in short duration 2'+ (tabs or not). if you slow down, you will feel very comfortable in more sea than you'd think. once you get "there", the 23se is extremely stable and comfortable with tons of useable space compared to many larger boats. in flatter/calmer seas - she flies - very fast for relative power and very economical.

i tilt up the engine and drift extremely skinny with confidence.

very easy boat to trailer around too - especially for a boat its "size". one of the big reason's i bought mine.

recommendations:

if you plan to run in any size chop - add an enclosure/curtains, it's not the driest boat and curtains will make that a non issue.

I'm lovin' my 2007 23se, with 200HP 4-Stoke. The power is actually more than I require, but I'm happy to have it when needed. The 23se with modified hull has a skinny water ability. I have travelled in less than 2ft. of water with 4 200+ pound guys, as long as they stay around the corners of the console. You cannot do this with a deep V hull. The open water running on the ocean is OK, as I will slow for the conditions. I have taken spray over the side running in chop on windy days, but this can be minimized by adjusting trim tabs, and/or slowing down. The 4-Stroke is frugal, and has been without issues to date. My only issue with the boat to date is that the casting platform installed by dealer, and not Parker, has rotted out. The installer had not epoxyed the end grain of the plywood backing, and it failed. ( I posted earlier to get help on my problem, with out input here, but will be posting again shortly on that issue, as I think my problem will be solved shortly. Talk later about that) All told, after having had several boats of all types and sizes, I love my Parker 23se, ans intend to run it for a long time. Good luck in your search,..........Papa

That's my next boat. I like that Carolina Blue. I was at my local Parker Dealer this past weekend for other business and walked onto that same boat just to check it out. Great layout and lots of space. I bought a lightly used 1801 in June so I'm a few years away. Enjoy the new ride.
