My 2320's fuel vent has quit functioning. Air no longer escapes when fueling and fuel flows from the filler spout when the tank is filled to full.

What is the easiest way to access and remove the fuel vent and vent hose to inspect and replace the vent etc.?

Appreciate any guidance

Thank you. So can I screw the vent cap off on the port side of the boat and run the.trimmer line from the outside down toward the tank or.would lit be best to access the vent line going into the tank through the deck plate and run the trimmer line up towards the vent?

Does your vent look like this?

Inspect each opening for blockage and you should see the screens

If does not have screens, feed in the line

If screens are installed, I would exhale into the vent and see if there any restrictions and check for gas odor

Then get in the cockpit and check the hose
It might be old and bent (kinked), and need replacing

No my vent does not look likely the one pictured. It has a black plastic cap and when I unscrew the cap all I can see ifrom the port side of the boat looking into inaide the vent tue is a flat metal surface that is.somewhat recessed inside the vent tube.

Ok I will try that. If I need to replace it, what is holding the vent tube in place? Can I remove the hose near the tank and tie a cord around the tube where it goes into the boat on the port side? Would use the cord to pull it back up and reposition it when finished.

In other words can I remove the cap and remove the hose where it connects to the tank and pull down on the hose at the tank end to get a better look at the vent itself?

vent has backing but inside the boat and probably some type of sealant (4000, 4200, etc) in the hole .

You existing hose might be ok just too long and removing some will remove the restriction

Posting some pics would be helpful

It sounds like I had the same issue. I pulled the vent hose off under the gunnel and blew out screen. It was clogged with dust(looked like wax). I also have the black plastic cap type vent.

I have the same vent, and like stated above in the spring I clear it out just by accessing it from outside of the boat with a thin wire.

Thanks for the replies it will be a few days before I am able to look at the vent again, but I will report back when I do. Thank you all.

Thanks gents. The fix was simple as everyone implied. Screen was clogged. Fixed it by running a wire through it from the outside. Vent is working again.
