I just recently joined the forum as I have decided that my next boat will most likely be a Parker and this site is thoroughly informative. I posted a WTB Thread in the classifieds last week with disappointing results. I have been looking at the 2500 Special Edition I think the boat would be ideal for my niche. Living in SW Florida there are a lot of inshore areas where the reasonably shallow draft would work well and when the gulf gets snotty the free board, gunnels and full transom would seem as seaworthy as any. There are a few out there for sale now but they're all rigged with single four strokes.
My question would be are not many SE's rigged with the twin 150s? Is it too much weight in the transom and water comes back in the scuppers? Or do Parker owners just like there boats so much they keep em forever. With the gradual shelf on our south west florida coast 35-40 mile runs are necessary to reach 60 feet before you even think about stopping to fish and I would feel more comfortable in a boat with twins going out that far.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link i didn't know that website existed.

You are in an excellent location to fish a 25SE, but there really aren't that many of those models out there, compared to the 25WA and 25SC models.
Same hull, just different topsides.

Owners that have the 25SE generally hold on to them, so you might have to use that jaXed link, as well as other sites to eventually find one.
Another reason for not finding a lot of twins is the fact that the SE hull works so well with single power.
You won't be able to plane on a single 150, so maybe a single with a kicker would ease your mind.

Realistically... a single Yamaha isn't a liability with fuel over $4.00/gal... it's an asset. 8)

Thanks for all the help. The main reason for wanting the twins was the ability to plane on a single engine in the event of engine failure and get back to the dock quicker. If the hull would not plane on a single 150 then that definitely makes twins less desirable.
I saw an old add at Norfolk Marine for a 25SE commercial hull that would be purchased new. No console, top, livewell, etc. I was pretty bummed out when I found out that Parker is no longer offering the commercial hulls. I thought the idea of a "project boat" with a brand new hull would be pretty cool.
