Was out yesterday on some pretty rough seas. Noticed that some of the rivits or holes around the base of the pilothouse were leaking inside the pilothouse. Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem and if it was a smiple or quik fix?

Well you can drill out riverts out and re-rivert it again or you probaly do a nice bead of Chaulk!!!

I used to have a similar problem years ago but got it tackled no problem.
Best if boat is out of the water, but walk around the perimeter of the rub rail and look on the underside of it, where it meets the hull. There were a few spots where the caulk had slightly separated and in a heavy head sea, water would come in and run down the inside of the cabin, various areas. I caulked up the openings and it's been dry since.

Tim,

That's exactly it... I have a receipt where they sent my boat to the shop and had the entire rubrail removed, then, resealed the entire cabin. The repair bill was about $1200, but they did it right.

I think Parker didn't seal the hulls sufficient, or they just leaked, but it's not a very difficult fix from the look of it. Just takes time.

When the boat was on the east coast, TriState Marine repaired it and looks like they did an awesome job.

Mine leaks is heavy seas.

With all the twisting going on between the two parts of the hull, I'm surprised any combinations of rivets, thru-bolts, or 5200/sealant would hold that shoe-box joint solid and keep it from leaking.

I sealed the bottom of my rub rail. I also removed the center bead of rub rail and tightened the screws and sealed them but I still get some leakage
in rough seas.
