2520 w/ 300 Etec Opinions?

There's a local 01 2520 deep vee with an 09 300hp Etec, anyone that can share information about the combo or motor alone would be greatly appreciated.

Been a Yamaha guy my whole life, have heard good things about these Etec's when it comes to oil and fuel consumption but what would be the life expectancy of a well maintained motor?

So I have own a etec since 08. I currently own 4 etecs. I have a 15hp H.O., 35hp, 115hp, 250hp which is on the Parker. I have had really good success with these motors. Very efficient and torquey as hell. The problems I had with them are two lower unit seals go bad. One on the troll motor cuz I sucked up some plastic some how. Another on the 115 but that was the internal one so warranty covered that. I fried Ecm on the 115 due to a wire on the perko being lose and I guess it took out the weakest link which was the ecm. But beside that nothing else. I have them maintain ever three hundred hours.

Re powered my 2320 with a 225 E-tec last spring. I love the motor. Sips fuel and oil and a ton of power. Im very happy with my decision so far.

How is the maintenance cost on the E Tec Vs. Yama 4 stroke ?
Those dang VST filters ?

How did you like the 115 version what kind of hull did you have it on? I am going to most likely be picking one up for my 18 hull.

I have it on a 20ft aquasport. It has a lot of torque and I get 3.3 miles to the gallon. Great engine for that boat. Pushes 34mph.

Looks clean. How many hours have you put on that motor?

Just put the deposit on the etec today 2013 leftover rigged out the door for 8k. What do you think of the price? 7 year warantee

Great price. I bought mine as a demo for 8200 with rigging and prop then had it ship to a guy to put on for 500
