I am going to raise my motor up before we put her back in the water.
I am running the rev-4 17p (pitched "down" to an 18p, it was actually 19p stock according to my prop guy) and it's obviously got tremendous bite. My motor is currently in the lowest or second lowest hole. I can trim it way up, about 12 out of 16 bars in a flat or moderate sea, and still have good bite even in turns. I raised the motor on my last boat 2 holes with great results (speed, holeshot and mpg).
What would you guys consider the safest height to put this f225 at? It's a notch transom, no bracket or jackplate. I want to go as high as possible but would also like to not have to pull the boat later to put it back down a hole.
Thanks.
