I am ready to pull the trigger on the 4.2 300 on my 2320 that has a 3.3 ltr 250...think its worth it.new engine comes with a 5 year warranty

Dave, I think that is a spot on match up. I'm consistently putting my 2 cents worth in on here about adequate HP. That said I think a 250 on the 2320 is a solid performer based on my set up on a 2120 and what others have said with your set up, especialy "GrouperJim". It's not about going fast, although on those occasions that you may need to its nice that you can. More importantly to me it's about adequate power when fully loaded going against current/swell and it's needed. Also, with the power the 300 will give you, it's about propping so you can cruise higher speeds with less RPM's and stress on the motor. That equals efficiency across the board to me? If anybody on here thinks a 300 is to much for a 2320 then why would Lynwood build the local Wildlife 21's with a 300? Enough said as far as I'm concerned. For what it's worth, if I ever repower my 2120, it will have a 300. Go for it!!!

I have no regrets about my 300. Powers thru the tides and seas with power. On the flats, there's not too many faster. Check on a six year warranty. There is certain time of year that Yamaha offers it. I got one. Good luck!

I just repower with the 250 4 stroke. My 2320 is rated for 250 max! Yours?

I suspect that they raised the HP rating on the newer 2320's when the newer generation 4 stroke Yamaha's lost some weight and added the 300's to that series of block? From memory, I think the newer 4.2 300's are around 50lbs lighter than my 06 F225 which is the same weight as the F250's of this era.

All the parkers with the Armstrong bracket, they are all the same ones. When I called Rob at Parker he said to call Armstrong. I called in 2015 and asked them what is the max HP? They said 250. I told them the 300 is only 25 lb more. Armstrong said, it's not how heavy the motor is, it's the power the 300 makes. Torque. Now they change it. ???

How is the 300 hp? When your out with the boat can you tell me what speed you are doing at 4K rpm. What's your top speed? Has to be over 43.

Put the F300 on our 2520 last year and almost doubled our range over our old 225.
Most efficient cruise is around 4200 for us if it's calm. Gets around 2MPG when conditions are good. Of course that all goes away if you have to drop the trim tabs

I have a 2004 2310 that I’m considering repowering to a 300 but can’t find any solid info whether it’s rated for 300 or not… Can anyone confirm it is OK to put a 300 on it? I can’t see it on the plate number cause I can’t find a plate number on my boat, any help would be greatly appreciate it thanks
