the 2520 0r 2530.......

My locker must be smaller by at least 25% but oh well ..... someone who has a 2520 with a windlass and 1/2" rope wanna give me a depth left over after it is wound up to the bottom of windlass.... please i'm curious

as for the plaited rope nope not going for it cost too much and i usually break off or loose 2 or 3 anchors per season of if i go out in rough stuff ... this year i only lost one out of 56 days of fishing, got lucky , and good at splicing .... plait is too hard to splice, but does lay much nicer, at a cost ,$$$ too rich for my blood....

I had the Lewmar pro fish 700 installed in 07 shortly after I purchased the boat. If you use the boat, windlass occasionally it should be ok. If you use your boat alot, and do alot of bottom fishing, spend the extra $$$$ and buy the "Good" windlass. It blows the Lewmar out of the water.
After only 6-7 months of usuage I had to send the unit back to Lewmar who replaced it do to using non stainless spring which let water intrude the gear casing. I also had this unit fail at the end of this season and it was repaired under warranty, but it is one big PITA to remove, ship and re-install. If I had to do it all over I would have spent the extra grand for the Good windlass.

I have the Lewmar 700 and wish I had bought the 1000.
Seems like the 700 struggles sometimes.
BTW, I have the 22' Delta anchor
