Please adjust what I stated above to 100 hours 60 if used extensively for trolling....still I'd be looking at an oil change every 6 trips.

Not to mention that my boat is not parked in my driveway, so changing my own oil would not be an option...if there was a Jiffy Lube for boats that would be helpful, but as it is, to me I would be looking at time off the water for oil changes.

I keep my two boats on a lift and have been changing my own oil for awhile now....

This is worth every cent.......

Takes less than an hour for a complete oil and filter change....

Well i typically fish in shore , and do 30 to 40 miles per trip..... at approximately 1.65 to 1.8 hrs a trip , hence 60 trips @ 1.75=105 hrs = one change per season ......Of course i do a few trips off shore so add another oil change in .....still lets see......

a filter and oil 2x a season = 3 to 5 gallons a year NOT 35 to 50 gallons ......

Yeah, reelynauti, I guess the equation is largely dependent on the use. No doubt for you the oil cost is very high compared to the cost associated with the number of oil changes. For me because of my trolling/idling the equation is different.

This is the manufacturer.

JABSCO
Flat Tank Oil Changer System, 3-1/2 Gallons

You can find them at most marine supply locations.

Think I picked mine up at West Marine a few years ago.

I've been able to change my oil and filter while the boat is on the lift.

My buddy uses it to change his while his boat is sitting in his slip.

Doesn't spill a drop..

Worthwhile investment..

Good luck,

Kevin,
Thx 4 the info. I'll look around and pick one up. I like the Boat Shop down in Manahawken......if he doesn't have it he can get it and he's fairly reasonable price wise usually.
