My new to me 2120 should get here middle of next week. Already I'm hating this transom area and want to do something about it. Has anyone did anything to this area to make it more useful and less of a sore eye? more importantly, it feels unsafe for the youngster back here. I also can't imagine the noise when running the boat.

Couple idea come to mind, get some rails fabricated to wrap that area and it can also act as a couple rod holders, something like the attached photos?or maybe build a fiberglass box that can fit into this area and kind of make it looks more finish. Something not permanent and can be removed using the existing mounting points.transom.jpg

Here's what I did when I owned my 2120. A yeti 110 cooler mounted on a "cooler slide" worked very well. Of course, for bilge compartment access, the slide is necessary: when advanced, it pulls the cooler just forward to the compartment so you can access the bilge.
