If so, how was the project? Would you do it again and are you happy with the unit?

While I am not a Parker owner (yet) I may be able to answer your question.

I installed the S1000 autopilot on my previous boat, a 26' Grady 265 Express w/ twins.

The install was very easy with the sea star steering and generally strait forward.

I did not integrate it with the Raymarine C80.

The system work very well and was fantastic addition.

I have had an absolute nightmare with it. However, I have all Furuno electronics....

Here is the thread I was running during trouble shooting. Today or tomorrow, I'm going to try one of the following:

1) return to Raymarine and get another different autopilot with an internal compass
2) buy another gps antenna (Raymarine 130) so that it actually knows how to drive the boat (will probably do this)
3) maybe buy an external fluxgate compass for my Furuno chartplotter so the heading data is better sent to the S1000

Good luck... Some guys with Raymarine electronics have liked them...
