It fits perfect behind the door when the door is open, that is where I put the clips, out of sight out of mind !

I will take one later today and post it up ! Just say your reply !

OK I have been using this ladder alot with the wife and kids.

One question...... how the hell do you keep it in the bracket???

The thing keeps floating up and out, am I missing something here???

I have been tying it in but need a better solution, other than that the thing works great.

It should have come with a small black plastic ring that fits around the tube.

When the ladder is inserted into the metal receiving bracket, you slide the plastic ring over the "notch" and the plastic ring keeps it from floating off the bracket.

I don't see the ring in the picture????

Mine doesn't have one either, I got it off Ebay.

Got a better pic?

You know what I did, as I almost lost it once, saw it floating away, I put a rubber hoes around it and a big thick zip tie, with and opening just enough to lift out of the slots it rests in, when you want to remove you just slide the hose around about and inch and it comes out of the slots, when in the slots the rubber hose keeps it from coming up, or floating up in the water, then I got a piece of rope and a SS climbers clip and I clip the ladder with the rope out of the way when using the ladder, and clip it to the U thingy you use to connect t your boat to the trailer on the transom ! I am not sure you can picture this, so later today, I will take a pic and post it up, it works perfect and was very easy to make, probably everyone has all the components in their garages !

I would say that if you mounted it on the transom, and fabricated a quick stainless cable to retain it if it fell off (similar to on an anchor pulpit) you would have a nice, easy setup.

Not a bad idea!!! I'll try that!!

Tara11 Great idea!!!

I did it and it works so well I am not even going to order the real part!!!

THANKS!

Best thing, I had everything in the garage!!!! :D :D :D

Well you got it done faster then I got home to take pics, but I new you probably had in your garage, but here are the pics for anyone else interested, yours is probably newer looking, mine has been on for about 3 yrs. But , I swear, it has never floated up and off yet :)

You have to pry it out of those clips. It won't fall out on its own. IMO.

Bryan - I had same problem of ladder coming up out of bracket and tilting with current and waves. My solution is not real fast but I have a short piece of 3/8 line that I use to tie it down to the bracket. The other option would be to have a piece of stainless that you could swivel or slide over the top to capture the ladder.

For those with kids (or adults that need a hand) there was a great simple rescuing tip in one of the boating mags this summer. If you are reaching down to pull someone out of the water onto a dock, boat swim platform whatever you cross your hands as you grab the persons hands in the water - grab right with right and left with left. Make sense? The result is as you lift the person he/she is turned around and thus can easily sit on the rail or platform instead of struggling on their belly as they're hauled in like a longliners catch. Try it and you'll be amazed.

Mine is different............... the zip ties are white. LOL :D :D
Great idea! 8)
White Zip ties don't hold up in UV radiation (sunlight) nearly as well as black ones. :)

I know, but that is all I had on hand at the moment. I got the big ones in the shop, I be in there next week. :D :D :D

A boarding ladder inside the cockpit ain't gonna do you much good if you are out solo and fall overboard.

I purchased a 3 step on ebay primarily to use only if someone had to enter the water and get back on board. I keep mine along the port side behind the seats of my 2520xl.
