Attention Parker 18 owners: Custom Leaning Post/Seat/Tackle Storage System Design!
My name is Paul Kiefner and I love my Parker 1801. There is however, one design shortcoming, and that is the swingback cooler seat. As you know, the seat is too far from the console to lean against and the seat is too low to sit on while piloting the boat. You cannot see through the windshield. The commercially available leaning posts do not blend aesthetically with the Parker and they cost upwards of $800.00. My resolution to this problem was to design a low cost, lightweight, durable and easy to build Leaning Post/Seat/Tackle Storage System. This design can be built as a relaxing winter project and won't take you broke in the process. Soon I will be posting a 3D model of my robust and aesthically pleasing design. Thereafter, I will make available for purchase a complete set of engineering drawings with a complete bill of materials right down to the stainless fasteners and epoxy. This drawing package will be very reasonably priced. The design can also be customized to fit your discriminating requirements.
