The plumbing is always the issue.. I suggest a portable. It's there when you need it and it's out of the way when you don't.

It starts on this page.

I've had a periment unit before...It's great when you want it and always in the way when you don't. It then becomes a trash can. :(

A lot of merit to having nice portable round tank. On the cheap side I have seen some nice ones on Parkers made out of the small thick walled Brute garbage cans. No problem with baits staying alive.

However, on my particular 2320 which is the same as yours, Parker has a factory oval livewell they install in the center of the cockpit. It is actually the leaning post/livewell combo unit (without the backrest) off the 1801 cc. It works great, has nice Parker cushion that covers half of the top. Works great as a seat and is in a good location for center of gravity/loading purposes. Lots of room under the deck in that location as well between the top of the fuel tank and the deck all the way back to the transom. Parker uses about 2.5 inch gravity drain out the back of the transom to drain, and clamshell/pump with a 5/8 hose just to the port of centerline coming up on the port side under the deck. The hole through the deck under the tank for the hoses to come though is about 8" diameter.

I primarily fished my boat so the permanent livewell worked out well for me. The girls liked sitting on the livewell cushion while cruising.

Check out this thread. It is about a new livewell install on a 2820 and there are some pics of how our 2520xl is set up.

We did not like the idea of having a livewell permanently in the middle of the deck when we boat the boat, but we became used to it and it actually became convenient real quick. It works great as a seat, we added 4 more rod holders to the aft portion of it(can never have enough), picnic table when having lunch-perfect for the kids, makes a good fishhold, great "bleed box"-we throw our stripers and blackfish in there to bleed out then into the cooler if needed, day storage for odds and ends when cruising.

I just had the plumbing re-done for the tank on my 2310. Hoses run under the deck and on top of the gas tank from the bait tank, back to the bilge where the pumps and thru hulls are. Those tanks are pretty common on the West Coast. Just make sure to use quality components, hoses, clamps, etc.
