Bait Tank Install?

I am working on installing a 50 gallon off shore bait tank on my 2005 Parker 2520. It has a 1" intake hose and 1 1/4" drain hose. I was planning on mounting it over the 6" hole above the gas tank and running the hoses back towards the bilge. The problem is I don't think the hoses will fit through the hole where the fuel hoses are running. I can fit a 1" hose but I don't think both will fit. Any idea?

Also, what everyone preference on mounting the bait tank closer to the pilot house or the stern? Seems like it might be too much weight if moUnited towards the back.

Lastly, the tank is oval shaped. I see everyone mount with the oval sides going port to starboard.What are the disadvantages of mounting the tank from bow to stern instead of port to starboard? Would the water sloshing around be worse if mounted this way?

I am at the same stage as you... It appears as though there is enough room in there for the 1 1/2 drain and 1" fill... I have a 2530 I am adding a 90 gallon to. Same footprint as the oval offshore tank but a little taller.
I would only mount it width wise cuz the splash could be to much. I have to calculate the mounting to see how we can get it done without right angle fittings. I think drain and fill on the cabin side and slice the deck the widths of the two hoses and longer so they enter the tank area and slide in rather than drop and right angle. I am not sure we have the depth to use a R/a fitting... My plan was to fit a plenum over the slice so the hoses slide in yet they can block water entry to the gas tank. Of course I will put a filet of caulking around the base but also cut starboard as an internal gasket to fasten the tank to the deck...
So I am at the first stage of setting mine up and have no pics yet but imagineering is under way. Of course another hole adjacent to the fuel line feed through May be necessary.
I am not sure if the underside bilge area has sufficient depth without having to come through the fuel tank area. Having a 2530 puts me at a more disadvantage though due to cabin length. You should have more space. Calculate the distance on the underside and see if it sits in the right area... We will both see shortly...

So I have done my measuring and find that I can go through the floor and miss the gas tank area. The hoses will be routed through the bilge area without an issue. My rNk is different where yours come out the side mine come out the back. If I were you I would re measure your tank versus your install position and see if you can run them just aft of the gas tank...

Thanks for te help. I ended up drilling a 2 1/2" hole parallel to the fuel lines and ran the drain hose through it. I ran the intake hose through the same hole as the fuel lines. It was pretty difficult to drill the holes. I needed 30" of extensions to reach the wall that needed to be drilled. I will try to get some pics of the completed project.
