I figured I wold start a different thread rather than clog the other "2520 Upgrades".

So I have an 04 2520XL I bought the 5X12 Beckson IRS sheilds. Brought them down to the boat and not even close. Checked the web and the next size down is 4X10. The screens that came out of the windows measure 4 1/2 X 11 1/2 including the tabs.

So it looks like I'll have to trim the 5X12s to fit. Another thing to note is the weather stripping around the window. since it is glued in I'm hoping to be able to peel half of it back to slide the rain shield in and then re-glue it.

Has anybody else done this where the vents had to be modified this much in order to fit?

I have not tried it but I did talk to the people at Beckson. Parker stopped using their windows in 2000, the only other option I could see was to install thier complete window but they are $150.00 ea plus the rain sheilds and they are bigger so the window opening would need to be enlarged. I also have a 2004 XL. If you get them to work in your windows please post. Thanks Mike

I have the Beckson 5x12's on my boat, but it is a 1996 model.
I planned to make a project post out of the install, but honestly, there was nothing to post.

Open the window, remove the old screen, pop in the new Becksons and I was done.

When you spoke with the folks at Beckson, did they indicate a willingness to make rain shields for the newer model boats?

Now THAT would be what CP is all about, i.e., driving improvements into our beloved boats :D !
