I ordered from Beckson their internal rain shields for my 2007 2120 SC.Tried to put them in no luck they would not fit in the groove of the port window.I contacted Parker these ports are 5 x 12. in size and that what I have.I removed the rubber gasket, that was glued in place and removed the screen.Has any one installed these? Is there a trick to install these? Help very frustrated, and the ventilation is greatly needed.

Mine fit right into the 5x12 windows, you have to peal the gasket back and remove the screen.

The instructions said they can be trimmed with a rotary sander if they need to be massaged into the opening.

I did not have to sand them, but I have the olderstyle, black acrylic portholes.

You should be able to visualize how much you need to remove, if it is more than 1/8th of an inch or so you might want to return them.

I have the same problem,i.e. rain shields are too large for my port window. I have taken the screen out of the port and I am trying to decide if I want to grind down the size of the rain shield. I have a 2005 2520XL which have clear glass windows. I also noticed that the port window has a crack that I have never noticed before. I was never hit by anything,i.e. the screen was not damaged therefore must be a stress crack.

Decided I cannot grind down the Beckson Rain Shield to fit my windows. Received return authorization from "Defender". I am going to contact Parker to find out who is the manufacture of my windows.

I tried to get my beckson rain shields to fit with NO LUCK. I sanded them down but they would not fit plus the rubber gasket would not go back in to allow the port to be closed. Called Beckson back they said that they would only fit in Beckson Ports, was NOT told that when I called and ordered them.According to there add it says they will fit non Beckson windows,GO FIGURE.They were sent back even the one I ground to death maybe I'll get some credit for it.Parker says they are Bowmar Ports,If any one finds vents for these please post.

can we tell who made these windows? there are no markings from the manufacture on them

Those look like the newer ports, most probably Bomar.

I have the older windows in my boat and the 5x12 Beckson rain shields went in so easily, I didn't bother making a project post about them.
If you have the older port hole windows, the Beckson shields are truly plug-and-play.
