Best bow mounted trolling motor for 1801?

Just looking for some recommendations for a trolling motor for my 1800. Thanks. Zach

Generally, I believe most of the guys here have a 24V/60" shaft Rhodan or Minn-Kota. I'm not sure I've found anyone unhappy with either one. Other factors may steer you towards one manufacturer versus the other but you will most likely end up with one of those.

60in 24/36 volts. Your locker is on bulkhead so precise location is not as critical as in 1801. Batteries in CC. Pm if you have more questions. I can take pics of my install next weekend.

Yup...and it sure is nice to have that leeway! Your biggest concern will be what you do with the bow rail.

After months on order, I finally picked up the trolling motor for my 1800 yesterday! I went with the Minn Kota 80# 60" Terrova. I plan to pretty closely follow Puck-n-Fish's installation, including the bow rail mod (thanks Puck-n-Fish for all your advice & lessons learned!). Agree that not having the anchor locker on fore deck makes it a lot easier to position. Good luck with your install!

No. I lowered the whole railing, including re-bending the front end down to match the back end of the rail, repositioned the middle support, 4 new mounting holes and substituted SS plates for the washers. Its worked fantastic so far.
