best route to run windlass cables to the anchor locker?

Getting ready to tackle the windlass, I was snooping around installing LED strips around the cabin and found the little channel where the bow rail through hull seems to be a good place to screw some zip ties to secure the cables. Would this be the best option?

The factory ran my windless cables, along with everything else, under the starboard gunnel to the helm and forward to the anchor locker
