I recently came across a very good deal on wishbone 23' outriggers off of a 30ft boat. They are lee outriggers with the larger mounts that mount on the side of the cabin. For such a great price i purchased them and now I am trying to figure out the best way to mount them on my boat. The outriggers themselves I am not opposed to shortening but the mounts, I am not sure if they will be able to be modified that easily. I attached the photos of how they were mounted on old boat. Any ideas would be great and much appreciated

Thanks

Andrew

Try to keep them with out shortening them, being "out there" is what they are for.

However they might fit, make sure you use over kill on backing plates for all mounts. They take a lot of abuse and cause stress points. The extra time put into proper backing will avoid potential problems down the road.

If you can't find backing plates that are wide enough or fit into tight spots, you can always make some out of good marine ply and seal them wrap them in fiberglass. Then add big ol' washers. This will allow you to use longer bigger mounting bolts too.

go get 'em

No offense, but any money you saved on the purchase price on those is going to be lost 10 fold on the resale value of your boat.

A 2320 does not have enoug real estate to make those work properly. Your rails will likely get in the way also.

Why even make that statement i mean i ask for help and i get a bunch of bs from some joker who fails to realize that some people are in for the long haul on a boat. Also welding and fabrication isnt a hobby its a profession and that makes it fun.

Btw saying no offense just makes it way worse

how do you figure it hurts the value 10 fold, i can take them off and make it look like nothing was ever there. Also i can tell you that if I ever did sell it, it wont be hard to make a big profit (based on what i paid for the boat), take my word for it, this boat as it sits would make me 300% roughly so resale value isnt a fear to me

I think what he is trying to tell you is those aren't the right riggers for a 2320 Parker.
They are going to take up a lot of space on your gunwales for walking room to the bow. Also they wont be functional mounted there.
I have a 2320 also and if I did lived in an area where I would run the boat offshore I would mount the right riggers to the PH top.

I've seen a lot of outriggers around here, but I can't say I've seen that particular model Lee, so I'm not sure how you might mount them on a 2320.
I found a set of used take-off 2" Lee juniors that I adapted to mounting on my pilothouse, so hopefully some of the things I did can help you.

First, the pilothouse side wall is not completely vertical, so in order to tuck the wishbones in and away from the washboards, two layers of starboard were used at the bottom attachment point as seen in the photos.
For backing plates, I used stainless plate that was polished on a buffing wheel for appearance sake.

The rigger poles I used were Lee 19' polished heavy duty that were double rigged by a friend.
We used sailboat blocks to make for smooth operation of the heavy monofilament (rather than nylon cord.
The bottom attachment (to the washboard) is via bronze snaps and fabricated shock cords.

I'm attaching a number of photos of what I did so you can get some ideas for your setup.

Edit: It looks like 2 of the photos didn't download correctly, so you will need to click on the photo link to see them.
