Good morning. We made an early morning run out to the ledge. Ran out of Mayport Inlet, NE Florida. We made our first stop just 28 miles east to jig for some Cobia on winter wrecks. The water temp was too cold: 52F... we really need the water at 68F. We spent a few minutes there, but nobody was home.
We then ran out to 61 miles ( 136 feet of water) and went from spot to spot. The GPS spotlocking anchor worked amazing: Held us dead nuts right on the spot each time. We fished for 6 hours and the batteries still had 74% charge at the end of our day... Got to love lithium.
We picked 4-5 fish off each spot, and really had to work to get a good icebox. We ended up with 10 trigger fish, 10 Vermilion snapper, 1 mutton snapper, 4 porgies and a Black Sea bass.
Total miles covered: 156
Total fuel burnt: 73 gallons.
