My Classic Parker is getting a white delamination look that started at the bottom of both front windows and it is slowly growing.
Eventually it is going to be a hazard.

I contacted Parker and they told me the windows are no longer a serviceable item.
Does anyone have experience taking these windows out and having them rehabitated or reconstructed?
It looks like they have some sort of laminate of glass and other material? Probably for safety glass?

What about Lexan or Polycarbonate replacement inserts?
We have some skilled dudes here at plastic in the Keys.

Are they wynn windows?

A local glass place can most likely drop and new piece of glass in for you.

I understand flat glass can be cut and installed by almost any local glazer, but I was interested if anyone with special Parker Window knowledge knows if this is a special glass-plastic laminate or some other form? Has anyone repalced with just Thick Acrylic plastic?

I do no know how to tell if they are Wynn. I will try to attach a picture.

I dont think you would be happy with putting acrylic glass in there. In my opinion you need to replace with real glass.

Post a picture of your windows. If they have black trim around them they are most likely Wynn windows.

See pic below these are my windows made by Wynn

Plastic will scratch easier and yellow over time in the Florida sun down there.

If the frames are black, they are Wynn. If the frames are silver aluminum they are Diamond Seaglaze.

GLASS
If I buy Wynne windows, will replacement glass be available only through Wynne?

No. Wynne uses industry standard glass. Replacement glass may be fabricated at hundreds of local glass shops nationwide.

Must I use the same glass for every window in my order?

No. You may choose the glass type and tint for each individual window.

Are all Wynne windows glazed with safety glazing?

Yes. Each customer may choose laminated safety, tempered safety, polycarbonate or acrylic.

Does Wynne recommend one type of safety glass be used in all Wynne windows?

No. The customer should choose the type and thickness of safety glass based on USCG regulations, ABS regulations and a careful study of the working environment for each window.

What is the basic difference between laminated safety and tempered safety?

Laminated Safety Glass-Two lts. of plate glass with a vinyl inner layer.(Modern American Car Windshield)
Tempered Safety Glass-One lt. of plate glass that has been heat treated to add strength and safety qualities. (Modern American Car Side Windows)

What are the advantages and disadvantages of laminated safety glass?

Advantages:

Generally remains in place when broken.
Less expense.
Fast replacement when broken.
Disadvantages:

Relatively easy to break.
Graylite 14 not available.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of tempered safety glass?

Advantages:

Much greater impact resistance than laminated.
Availability of graylite 14. (limo tint)
Disadvantages:

More expensive than laminated.
Shatters into small pieces when broken.
Longer lead time to replace when broken.

CLAMP RINGS
Are clamp rings adjustable?

No. Each clamp ring extrusion is made to fit a specific bulkhead thickness.

What is the thinnest bulkhead size that can be accommodated with a clamp ring?

1/8” bulkhead.

What is the thickest bulkhead size that can be accommodated with a clamp ring?

2 ½” bulkhead.

If the bulkhead thickness is not uniform around a rough opening, can a clamp ring still be used?

Yes, provided the largest and smallest size is within 3/16”of each other.

Must every window in a set or order have the same clamp ring size?

No. Clamp ring sizes can vary as bulkhead thicknesses vary.

Must Wynne windows always be mounted using a clamp ring?

No. The clamp ring may be deleted. The window can then be attached to the bulkhead with fasteners through the exterior window flange.

FRAMES
Does Wynne manufacture windows with mitered corners?

Yes.

Which are better, mitered corners or radius corners?

Radius corners are stronger, less likely to leak, and less expensive.

Can Wynne make windows with curved sides?

No. Straight sides only. 3” radius or mitered corners.

What is the smallest window that Wynne can build?

6 ¼” x 12”.

What is the largest window that Wynne can build?

To date, the largest window is 60” x 168”.

Can I have window frames painted colors other than black?

Yes. Wynne can powdercoat over aluminum frames.

Standard powdercoat colors available include: white, off white, almond, black. There is an upcharge for all powercoated orders. For colors other than the 4 standard above, there will be an upcharge plus powder stocking fee. Call for details.

OTHER
Does Wynne take credit cards as payment?

Yes, Visa and MasterCard only

Great Post.. I have the Diamond Seaglaze windows in my 2006. I hate them. Pitted (on the inside) from the salt air and humidity. Started pitting within a few months of new...

Anyway, have tried scrubbing with red 3m pad, treating with various liquid protectors etc., no good.

I wonder if those Wynn windows have the same issue? Wonder how difficult it would be to replace the windows?

Hmm.....

My Wynn windows have zero pitting on them the boat is a 2000. IMHO I dont know why Parker switched to Diamond seaglaze, I like my wynn windows, and I prefer the black trim over the silver, the front windows are also a lot larger then the DSG windows.. The down side of the Wynn windows they have a terrible set up as far as the hinges and the brackets that open and close them, I would much rather have the piston closer that the DSG windows have over what I have. My windows dont open out all the way and the point at where they stop is right in my line of sight. Its actually a project I have been wanting to tackle to extend the opening arms. Its on the list for this winter.

Few pictures below to show what i am talking about the opening and closing part of the wynn windows.

Me Too. I could have put anything on the Mako. I chose the Wynn because of the Black and the fact that you could pretty much tell what your windows would cost right thru their website.

They were the only marine window company that did this....But they no longer do it :(

The only surprise I had with their windows was a COD for the delivery charge. Lucky I had some cash laying around at the time to cover it. It was like $65 if I remember right?

How hard was it to replace the windows >>> ? Honestly ....

It's VERY easy

They are made like a clam shell...There is a outer part and a inner trim. You use Butle Rubber in a calk gun as sealant on the outside around the opening and the frame covers that.

Now....Here is something that I did extra that no one will tell you.

Get yourself some Tef-Gel and liberally coat the stainless screws BEFORE you install them.
