Over time, it's been interesting seeing all of the 'regional options' that are popular on our boats.
So... I decided to capture the spirit of that regionalization in a limited edition model. :D

We all know that the "West Coast Edition" would feature the higher rails and towers... but what kind of options would be featured on the "Chesapeake Edition" that would differentiate it from,, say... my "Downeast Edition"?

Is it stuff like livewells, and rod-holder placements and accesories that reflect the popular regional species of fish, or options that reflect the weather, or the body of water that you haunt in a particular region?

Would there be bigger tabs on the Chesapeake Edition because you get more short chop than the "Key West Edition"? What goodies would your Parker Dealer in the Chesapeake trick out their Parkers with to make them "Regionalized"?

Aside from the nifty vinyl graphic, its a very interesting concept,, that you could study the way a Parker is rigged out and guess the region it comes from.

Bluewater Edition???
Marathon Boat House...

That's what gave me the idea Wicho.
The Florida dealer adds the options that are popular in that particular area, then brands it for his dealership as a marketing tool.

The west coast boats probably have the most obvious regional options with the high bow rails, double-size rocket launchers, rooftop towers, huge baitwells, and such.

The northeast boats work both inshore, nearshore and then offshore fishing for tuna...
Unfortunately, we don't have access to tuna in the Chesapeake. :(
The Chesapeake Edition typically consists of a modified vee setup for light tackle jigging (LTJ) for schoolie rock, perch, croaker, and the occasional trayt.

In the spring and fall the tarket is migrating rockfish taken on the troll. In the summer, bottom fishing is popular, and some folks chum while chunking cut bait.

Live bait is rarely used so you don't see many livewells here, and coolers take the place of a built-in fishbox. People here use fishboxes for storage. :D

In conversations with my local dealer, 98% of the boats they sell are MV's with single motors. The free-standing cockpit driving station is dealer ordered on every boat because it's the one option everyone orders anyway. Bigger tabs are catching on as an owner installed option to deal with our short, steep chop.
The dealer and the factory may catch-up eventually, but dealer sold boats all wear the standard 12x12 tabs.

Wishbone outriggers are popular with the trolling crowd, though many people use planer boards as they can be home-built rather inexpensively.
Multiple rod holders in the washboards are typical as is the provision for a way-way-back (WWB) line.

I would guess that even though the species of fish are different, boating conditions in the Chessie are pretty much the same as the sounds in the Carolinas. That could be the reason why Parkers are so popular here in the Chesapeake.

So, you may ask... why the graphic?
I'm just making my Parker my own. No different than what most of us are doing here on ClassicParker.

Just add a chum grinder on the port side, and a PVC contraption to run crab lines on the starboard side. You would need one of those cockpit helm stations on the starboard side so you could solo the crab lines. :D :D :D

Ah yes... I forgot about the trot-liners Dave!

BTW - On my way back from Tilghman yesterday the Admiral and I were drift fishing just east of 86...
We had several large schools of blues come through moving north that were hammering the peanuts.

The summer pattern is heating up!
Could the Spaniards be far behind? :)
