Five year old 2520 XL is looking poorly inside the cabin from white crystals on the aluminum and rust on the stainless. The dealer didn't know what is causing it and a boatworks owner has no idea. The window frames on the exterior are clean and on the inside they are covered in white crystals, leaving marks when dusted off. Likewise the stainless outside is flawless. Inside every fastener, fixture, trim piece are rusting.
What is going on and how can I stop it? Boat is in Cheapeake environs.

Cabin ventilation.
Ditto ... as in lack thereof.

Look up 'dorade' and 'beckson window vents' here on CP, using the search.

I have the same boat, and I keep one of those $50.00 west marine dehumidifier on in mine all year round, very little pitting on one windshield frame, but I think it is from salt water.

Do you think leaving the small port hole covers open would provide enough ventilation? You could then leave the door and main windows locked. Obviously you would need to make sure the curtain is pulled back. I have a 2120 SC, so it may work for that model, but not be good enough for larger boats. What do you think?
