I look at those pixs that Bluesthing posted....Particulary that one with the rail around the engine well.....God help you to work in THAT bilge.
 
Call the local glass guys. Enclosing a transom seems cheap in FL with some saying $2500 to 5000 (not on this site). Where I live in SE Va, one of the respected glass guys wants $4500 for a new notched transom, 2500 more to enclose it, plus price of bracket & labor to install it. The new transom would be Coosa, not wood.


There's more stuff that can drive the cost......

1] Is the Engine harness long enough?
2] Hyd Bulkhead fittings & Hyd steering hoses
3] Batt Cables?
4] Fuel hose extension
5] Rigging hose
