About to perform some major surgery on the new 2520SL.

Going to be flush mounting a VHF, flow meter, Stereo, four 6.5" speakers and 10" Garmion GPS in various areas of the boat this weekend and next. Also installing a radar dome, GPS antenna and VHF antenna on the roof. Any tips on making these cutouts without doing damage to the surrounding gelcoat? Need advice.

Thanks.

What I do ...

DRILLING HOLES:
See my reply/info in this post here.

CUTTING HOLES:
3M blue tape as overlay, mark outline on that, drill starting and/or corner holes as per above, and I have best success with NEW downward-cutting laminate blades in a jigsaw. The downward stroke cuts clean and doesn't (for me) chip the glass edge. Also, NEVER force the cutting tool, use new blades, and let them cut.
