If any dealer sells Parker at a cut rate price, and anyone can buy from that dealer, everyone who owns a Parker will suffer a loss of value.

Parker is a first class boat, and a good value. You can always go out and get yourself a Bayliner if you want to go price shopping.

I think they're smart folks who won't cheapen their brand and I'm all for it.

That wasn't my beef . Just because my local dealer doesn't have the model I want and the next closest dealer does, I shouldn't have to pay a duty of $1000 ( or as the next closest dealer put it a "gift" ) to the local dealer so I can buy the model I want . And if you think for a moment that the dealer was going to pay that out of his profit , your just as stupid as your post makes you sound .

You might direct this comment to "Jeffnick " as well . To me his" get yourself a Bayliner if you want to go price shopping" was clearly meant to be insulting and bordering on as you say " a personal attack ". Bar me if you wish , but I'll stand by my reply to " Jeffnick"

WARNING - DISCUSS this CONTROVERIAL topic civilly ... or this post will be LOCKED ...

If you don't like it ... PM me ... if you really don't like it ... please go to some other 'playground' website like THT and play in their 'bilge' ...

I am not a boat dealer and only have on a basic understanding of dealer territories. While I do find it unfair that Parker seems to force one to buy from the dealer closest to the Purchaser's zipcode versus from the zipcode closest to where the boat will be permanently moorder or docked. As a Consumer, I seriously question that concept. But also as a Consumer, I am not privy to all of the dealings and issues between a brand and a dealer, whether it be a boat or another expen$ive commodity, and not just a Parker boat in this instance.

But what I do know is ... it was issues surrounding the debate of "dealer issues" that took down the Parker owned forums. Plus, to me, it was also the BLATENT disrespect some posters have towards another's reply and/or tone. I have CAUTIONED more than a few here about their lack of respect and poor "perceived" tone in the replies to others. If people stick to the FACTS, as they best know them, in any matter here ... we'll all be better off. But any posted personal attacks will NOT be tolerated. One of my Moderators has already issued a warning on this post.

I will not allow the debate of this controversial topic to disrupt the mood and good manners prominently displayed on these CP forums. I am all for HIGH signal (good content and discussion) to LOW noise (abuse and poor manners) ratios. Maintain it - and contribute ... violate it - and you'll be suspended from posting.

Capice?
