300 Plus to SW ! I can build my own snow frame and throw the taylor made cover on it -then wrap it with an ooval winter pool cover -55$ or a heavy duty tarp or two ? Whats the pros and cons????

Thanks

For a boat that size there's no BIGGER waste of $$ than paying someone to shrink warp it ...

Use the search feature for sample ideas - tarp frame, etc. as terms.

I use a 20x40 tarp (green reinforced) and get 3 winters out of it. $56. It wraps the whole boat and engine. With the 18 you could make a tripod pole to add a point in the middle to make the snow slide right off. Bungee cord or tie the bottom to trailer. Works great and gives a nice tent to do early spring work under.

Check out ULTRA COVER sold by KOVER KLAMPS in NY. $.25 a square foot cut to order. I make my own webbing on my 1801 and cover it. No ice or snow will stick and it lasts for years, better than any tarp.

We don't get much snow in my region so my solution may not be for you but, I simply pass my handling lines from fore to aft, across my windscreen grab rail, criss-cross make one turn on the grab-rail and tie off on the aft cleats. I then cover the boat with a 20' X 30' tarp and anchor to the trailer with bungee cords. I keep the motor tilted up and the will cover part of the cowling but I use a smaller tarp for the engine as a back-up. I use my boat weekly from April to February but cover it between trips. I like the idea of the tarp for air-flow to keep her dry. Like I said, this may not work for heavy snow accumulations but you never know.
