Does anyone know the OD of the West Coast Bow rails?

With all this talk about trip lines and anchors and Dale's well argued position about prioritizing the real expectation of an anchor, I am thinking about leaving my main anchor alone and adding one of those anchor mounts to one of the rails.

My plan is to just add a danforth or other type anchor that I can deploy when I know I am wreck fishing or in heavily rocked areas. I'll use the break away system for that anchor only. I already have extra anchors but I don't want to stow them below.

Anyway, for some reason, I think the OD of our rails are larger than the stock anchor mount clamps.

If you know the size, great. If not, don't go out of your way.

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "anchor mount clamps" but the West Coast bow rails on my 2120 are 2", one of the nicer features on the boat, sure like those things.

These anchor mounts attach to the rails with a u bolt clamps, but I think they only fit 1" rails. So, I guess they won't fit our 2" rails.

The anchor slides in there somehow.

Know what your talking about now. Didnt know what they were called. I did see a guy at the harbor this past weekend with something similar mounted on the West Coast rails. I spoke to him about the CP web site so he might answer up.

You must have the EXTRA heavy duty rail. My west coast bow rail is only 1.25".

1.25" sounds about right. Thanks.

It's funny how things happen. My buddy and I were talking a couple of days ago about rod holders for my bow rail and we measured them. 1.25 on the money, measured with calipers.

Sorry, as usual CPer's are at the top of their game. I measured circumferance, not sure what I was thinking. OD is definatly 1.25.

Cheers

Doh! Circumference is 2 TT R, where TT = pie or 3.14, so you shudda got almost 4" as a result, doh! ;)

... just teasing you ...
